The pain, the trauma, the sugar rushes, the sweat, the tears... this quest took days to months to get done as a kid with no YouTube just word to mouth or figuring it out yourself

What’s sad as a kid I didn’t know about postgame content. I always thought the elite four was it

I wish emerald for the GBA wasn't so expensive. I hate emulating tbh too. I don't like sitting at a cpu, & don't want to it to be on my phone either. It feels phony when emulated. I wanna walk around the house on an SP & have a save game the way it's intended. Feels more legit

Pokémon Emerald was so fucking good. I honestly don't care about the newer Pokémon games anymore, they've gone downhill. It's not even about the graphics, it's the flat, soulless style, how easy everything feels and even the Pokémon & trainer designs themselves.

emerald was such a complete game man. easter eggs, hidden legendaries, post e4 content, mystery events, even had the guidebook 😂

Ah yes, today's kids will never understand the true pain of learning braille at a young age, just to hear a distorted ÜN ÜN ÜN. Peak gameplay, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Got to experience this for the first time last year. Nothing has come close to beating it

Friday night, mountain dew and some chips. Memories ❤️

I understood as soon as they caught the Wailmer Good old times

Getting your marshtomp to swampert before you learn dive is a hell of a grind you in the trenches battling hard as hell to get him to evolve

Getting one was something to brag about.

The moment I saw the Wailmer I knew 🥲 can tell this was the generation I grew up on

I don't understand it either and I'm old already. I CAN'T READ BRAIL 😒

Sad they had this in the game but didn’t add the Azure flute in diamond pearl and platinum because they thought it would be to hard for us to figure it out

Remember when I finally solved this, after elementary school in daycare. Was probably either 8 or 9, was on Ruby first but then eventually on Emerald. I remember being so happy when I finally figured it out, internet was way different in 2004/2005 too so it was special…

There was a time when Pokemon felt uniquely magical. before they learned how to railroad the player, they knew how to reward exploring. kids of the time needed to ask their parents what these dots are, and then go to the library to decipher Braille, or GameFAQs for a walkthrough.

Niiiiiice

Emerald and platinum are my two favorite

Real puzzles that you had to figure out

It was so fun figuring this out as a kid back then. I actually read the manuals back then which is why I immediatly recognized the Braille letters. Just wish the rest of the puzzles were harder...

need this on switch 😩

... You can find Wailord in da' wild...

Imagine having to learn a whole language to play LOL

Ngl the puzzle was dumb as fuck, I'm glad Pokemon legendaries and mythicals got dumbed down instead of this holy shit starfew 100hours farming session before we can attempt to catch these fucking slow ass rock useless regis.

UNDERWATER I REMEBER THAT

Six dots open 3 doors

Yeah I never did this shit

LOOVVEEE THE REGIS 💜

Exactly

How did anyone even know this could be done? Was there manual or something ?

They really don’t

Goat gen
