Spud Webb had legendary hops

I was playing in a pickup game at NCSU and some of the players were at the other end on another court. This was after he transferred but before Fall. We walked down to see the commotion and we saw Spud who was much smaller than us dunking and we were WTF 👀

Kids THEN didn't understand.

Spud put on a show in the Slam Dunk Contest….at 5’ 7”….

Dude…Spud was off the chain. It was insane to watch! Prime example of why you don’t tepl people they can’t accomplish a thing when they set their mind to it.

Unconceivable, unimaginable and incredible at the same time. Well they mean the same thing. But u couldn’t describe it otherwise. Never seen before or since. It wasn’t like Bird dunking or Kemp. Amazing athleticism.

Spud. Webb. I could watch his highlights ALL DAY.

1986 Slam Dunk Champ.

Spud came to a basketball camp at Arkansas State in the early 90’s Remember saying no way he can dunk as short as he was. Then he demonstrated that he could. Crazy to see in person.
