They did all the work they turned into a baseball field by the end of the day the adult saw it and decided to make it their own little paradise for their own little projects. Then Arnold and his friends brought back all the garbage that they took and placed back on that field telling them that’s how they found it and they were the one that did all the work. Then the adults felt sorry and decided to turn it back into a baseball diamond.

If kids tired to do this today a bunch of boomers would call the cops on them and pot Gerald would end up getting shot by them.

The thing about this show that make it a forever classic is that it truly encompasses what it’s like to live in the city. Ofc it’s cartoon so moments are hyperbolic and unreal, but the cultures and themes are astonishing✨

If this happened today the cops would get called for being on ‘private’ property. Even if the owners have been dead for decades with no next of kin involved. Kids need their own spaces but adults just take those away. This was the greenest part of their city!

I was disappointed there wasn't continuity with this being a regular new hangout spot in the show.

Nowadays they'd get fined for cleaning it up without a permit by the government spending $5,000,000 merely planning how to clean it up for 2 years
