Kids today will never know the power of Monkey Magic on a Friday tea time

The first series was brilliant. but when the actor playing Pigsy left and was replaced for the second series, and then they added a talking horse it got too a bit silly. I mean, a monkey on a flying cloud and a fish monster was fine....but a talking horse?!!!

I fucking LOVED Monkey Magic as a kid!

Back in the 90s I had a Japanese pen friend, she sent me a mix tape of some of her favourite bands, the closing songs was on, I nearly fell off my chair when it started.

So, in case any of you didn't know, Tripitaka (the priest) was a girl. The actress's name was Masako Natsume. She was a prominent star in Japanese cinema and television, winning the Best Actress award at the Hochi Film Awards. Sadly, she passed away in 1985 at the age of only 27 from acute leukemia.

I used to get a headache too when Tripytaka did the prayer & squeeze Monkeys headband. 🙏

The fact that so many of us watched it was quite amazing.

I loved this programme, cor the amount of kids trying to whistle up a cloud flapping their fingers near their lips 😂

I was excited to watch it and never had any idea what was going on. I think it was the credits that excited me

I remember him being punished for pissing on bhudda 😂 It was brilliant I'm going to find it & watch it this weekend

I forgot about Monkey Magic. There was Pigsy and Sandy but what was the name of the othe one in the group? I think it was on Friday nights here too. I loved watching this as a kid.

Fuckn a. In Perth as a kid it used to be back to back with the goodies. Seriously…life didn’t get any better. After school surf, home, monkey and goodies. What I wouldn’t give…

I always remember him randomly taking a piss at the side of the road every now and again.

We always used to get our weekly Chinese takeaway on Fridays, and sit in the living room to eat it while Monkey was on. Great memories.

Loved it.I was terrified of Pigsy,at first,but,ended up liking him.Anytime i see it now,i`m instantly back then,as an 8/9 yr old with my big brother glued to the Grundig Tele that had Teletext & Ceefax.
