I truly hate to admit it, but this is 100% accurate. And I have no great scientific reason or explanation. Both me and my wife work from home or around the kids just as much as the other. But when we are solo, there is a very distinct difference between how they treat their mom versus how they treat me. I don't even work most of the time in my home office, because even if I am just in the room, they are more well-behaved. It's freaking baffling.

I can't explain it too. I guess this is what people mean by the presence of a father figure

We jokingly call it dad powers. But there's trade-offs to everything. They like to read with me, but they like to go on adventures with Mom. If they get scared, they come running to me. But if they want their feelings mended or body mended, they run to Mom. There's always a balance somehow.

Everyone has a role to play in nurturing the children

There are different types of rewards for it too. With the exception of our daughter, our kids show my wife a lot more warmth. I will admit though, my daughter is a daddy's girl! LOL Where I believe we're on the right track is not really how they react to us individually. It's the respect that they show others. My sons are complete gentlemen. They hold doors and say, yes ma'am and yes sir to the adults in their lives. I couldn't be prouder. We may be confused a lot, but we're doing something good. 🤪

This is inaccurate because women don't want to cook or be in the house. And IF there's even a father in the first place, she's not handing him the kids to go back into the kitchen. She's getting dressed up better than she would for her husband and going out for "drinks".

it's about size-intimidation and boundaries. Moms give more love, but that causes also more dependency (kids want mom to cuddle&play every time) and overstep-dad will not allow it, you can see it how male lions behave with pups.If they have enough, they roar loud and pups go away

Yeah, cos she has zero boundaries. My kids know not to mess with me. If I am cooking in the kitchen, I put them on the chair and they sit…when we are playing and I want them to start playing on their own, all I have to say is just that. Women do too much and then complain of burnt out. We should take a script from men. But then, they will say if you are not finding it hard, you are not doing it right. Utter bs

As a father of a four year-old girl and a one year-old boy, this is 1000% spot on for some reason. My wife is stay at home (bless her heart) and I work 10+ hours a day but as soon as I walk in, those kids calm down tremendously lol but I couldn’t do it without my wife 🙏🏽♥️

It's because you're not at home with them 24/7

When my wife got a part time job our 2 year old tried to grab my leg like that. I would start cleaning and give him a job to do. Soon enough he was grunting and marching around the house. He needed to know he could do it.
