"Kill shot" is a volleyball term, John. John Oliver

"Just to be clear, I am not happy to watch women experience injury, humiliation, and the loss of sporting opportunities, but trans women and kids seem to be getting hurt the most right now." But not physically though, right? Like Payton McNabb whom you made fun of earlier in the episode. @hbo @iamjohnoliver

@iamjohnoliver Exactly. She was literally injured by an actual kill shot. And he tries to make it sound like they are using exaggerated made up language to make it seem worse than it was. No. It WAS a killshot. And it caused much harm to that young woman.

@iamjohnoliver 💯

@iamjohnoliver God, he's scum.

Oh FFS. Also the “she hasn’t suffered because she just moved on to a different sport” argument is the argument to be used ON THE MEN. They can do something different - like play in the damn men’s team. “Injury pushed her into a different sport” just isn’t the “k!ll shot” this idiot seems to think it is.

What a fool... tell me you've never played anything ever. A kill is a volleyball term. All conference is voted on by the coaches in the conference of which were all so supportive of her trying to get back out there and finish her last season in whatever capacity as it was her last opportunity to play the sport she had trained for her entire life, but couldn't continue due to her head and neck injury. The newspaper clip "got cha" moment...which McNabb was it referring too as there were 3 on the team all of which were/are stellar players. How embarrassing for him... but thanks for mansplaining women's issues.

@iamjohnoliver The canned laughter is especially annoying.

@iamjohnoliver So gross. She suffered brain damage but is right-wing so who cares. Vile

@iamjohnoliver When you are making jokes out if a young woman getting life-changing injuries you should really question what you are doing. John, would you still be making jokes about it if it was your child?
