Bob Weir had a sliding pickup in the 70s

I love this concept. Don't let these negative comments bother you. Maybe it's been done before, but I only know of one company selling this concept in mass production and they're only using 1 pickup. Did you build it yourself?

Unfortunately this invention isn’t mine Just found this interesting one on IG and decided to share with everyone here

No worries, the more people see it, the more it'll catch on. Besides, you can always use another guitar, right?

Exactly 👌

I believe it's a further innovation of "The Rail" bass guitar from the 1980's

I’ve never felt the need to micro adjust the pickup placement on my guitars. It’s a clever concept, but I don’t feel like it’s necessary.

They have this already. It's called "I own forty different guitars."

Westone Rail and Gibson Grabber, both had sliding pickups.

That’s pretty cool. I could see something like this being a part of a producer’s gear in the studio. Helpful in trying to dial in sounds.

Reminds me of the old Westone Rails from the 80s

Guitarists are always finding more knobs to fiddle with. I had a SGX 2000 (with the foot pedal to match) in the early 90s. Can fiddle with sounds for days, didn't really do much for my actual playing. All you really need is a Les Paul and a Marshall stack.

Nothing wrong with movable pickups. There was attempt by Gibson with a bass but can’t think of anything for guitar. Only change I might make is detents in the rails to make the positions repeatable.

Not bad. My only issue is the knob locations. As a rhythm guitarist to the bone, they might pose an issue with my crazy strumming. Maybe a relocation, or re-engineering to have the knobs on the reverse side and recessed... or recessed into a channel in the same location. Just thoughts. I think of everything. Its my superpower. Lol

Needs an option to also rotate them at an angle, like the Fender Strat bridge pickup.

Automated the movement with a quiet stepper or servo motor for a sorta' wah or time based effect.

two pickups and a selector is enough, three pickups is more than enough.

Pretty rare I see actually new guitar ideas and this is one!

Fugly hipster nonsense.

WOW. Actually, that's awesome. You get a completely different sound "color" when you move those things around. No need to buy a new guitar anymore just to have a different sound, basically. Cool stuff!!!

I’ve dreamt of something like this for about as long as I’ve been playing guitar and that’s been a little over 30 years! That is so freaking cool.

Cool idea! Not crazy about the location of the knobs that tighten and untighten the pickup sliders, but other than that, I'd like to try it.

It’s like technology you’d see in a dream. Convoluted and unnecessary. The bugman’s dream.

Put on a metal distortion channel. Thats the true test

There will be downsides, & that neck heel is only one of them.

Cool concept. Also make them height (distance from strings) adjustable. I understand that having a floating/rail design may not effect tone vs wood mounted, but I am a big tone wood fan and curious about the pros/cons.

Ugly as fuck

Junk

You are onto something. Just need to finetune the slide mechanism. Possibly route the body.

Stupid There’s literally a toggle so you don’t have to move the pickups

PLAY FREEBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not only fugly, its a repeat of 100 other sliders. Strat has a 5 way selector switch.

Sounds like shit

Already available in the 70s Fan Armstrong London model

Couldnt you just add two more pickups and have a toggle that adjusts which are activated?

My engineering mind is going crazy right now.

Very cool and innovative. Congratulations on a good idea. Could it pickup slots be universal with a pin connector so one could interchange popular pickups?

いろいろな音を楽しみたい趣味の人範囲なら楽しめそう。 音にこだわるセミプロやプロには見向きもされないだろうな。 フェルナンデスのzo-3の感じで販売なら楽しそう。
