AI video can look good and still feel fake. One of the biggest reasons? Camera movement. A camera does not just move from A to B. It has weight, it has momentum. A person is holding it, a gimbal operator is walking, a dolly slows down before it stops, a handheld camera reacts to the person carrying it and much more. Those tiny details are what makes AI video feel more like something that was actually filmed. As many of you know, we pulled a lot of inspiration from Seleka and Manaka, so when we started development, we adopted Seleka’s camera, since Manaka wasn’t out yet. As a result, we currently have two camera modes: left click moves the camera without moving Moeka, and right click moves the camera along with her. Our plan is to eventually rework this and “mix” both into a single system, but I’m not sure if that’ll happen before the first tech demo is out. We are, however, planning to add a first-person camera. I played Manaka mostly in first person and loved it 🤣
