Instead of showing leadership and emotional maturity, she reacted emotionally because she was booed by frustrated citizens. A responsible minister would focus on uniting South Africans, not inflaming tribal tensions for political survival. People are angry at the failures of the ANC - African National Congress government ..; unemployment, crime, corruption, and illegal immigration. Booing is a message from the public, not a personal attack. I want my followers to understand that you SHOULDN’T insult South Africa as a country based on a few loud voices on social media who express racist or xenophobic views. South Africa has provided numerous opportunities to the world, particularly to Africans. If South Africans were truly xenophobic, Africans would not be living there in such large numbers today. The majority of South Africans are welcoming to all foreigners who are legally in the country and do not commit crimes. These foreigners work with South Africans, live with them, and many are married to South Africans. There is nothing to worry about in South Africa if you are there legally and not committing crimes. South African citizens have the right to express concerns about illegal foreign nationals and those who commit crimes. In Zimbabwe, illegal foreigners are often placed in dilapidated jails, and refugees are housed in camps like Tongogara in Manicaland. Generalisations are dangerous, especially when they taint and insult a silent majority that is not xenophobic. Local communities in South Africa have protected foreign nationals from a small, violent minority on many occasions. The South African government is not xenophobic either. If it were, Zimbabwean women, who make up 70% of pregnant women giving birth at Musina Hospital in Limpopo, would not be allowed there. We should be grateful for the South African hospitality we have received for decades. It is important to recognise that while xenophobia and racism may exist in certain pockets of society, these attitudes do not reflect the majority of South Africans or the country as a whole. Respecting the rights of South African citizens to voice concerns about illegal immigration and crime is important, as these are valid issues. However, it is equally important to avoid generalising these concerns to portray the entire nation as xenophobic or unwelcoming. If South Africans were truly xenophobic, parties like PA and Action SA would be in power today. The four largest political parties in South Africa have never used xenophobia as a campaign platform, which should be telling. Do not judge a nation's character based on a few loud, yet inconsequential voices on social media. They do not represent South Africa accurately. Countries are a product of their history. We shouldn’t draw comparisons with where we come from and insist that our hosts should behave as we do. If South Africans were to follow our practices in Zimbabwe, refugees would be in camps and illegal foreigners would be in jail! In Zimbabwe, refugees are not even allowed to work, if you are found working, you are thrown into jail. South Africa, on the other hand, provides equal legal rights in its courts to foreigners as it does to South Africans. These actions are not those of a xenophobic country. Zimbabwe has refused to issue documents to people of Malawian and Zimbabwean origin, and it has revoked the citizenships of many Zimbabweans whose great-grandparents came from elsewhere. In any society, you are going to have opportunistic politicians and unemployables who think that all their problems are caused by foreigners, we have them everywhere, but they shouldn’t be used to define a whole nation!

South African Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini says Zulu people should not fight immigrants in his nation, although everyone has a home and must go back to where they came from. This was mainly targeted at Mozambicans, Nigerians and Zimbabweans who number millions in South Africa, mostly there illegally. Clashes between South Africans and foreigners have been rising in recent months, largely fueled by xenophobic campaigns by Dudula Movement and March and March, another radical xenophobic group. The situation was highlighted by recent clashes between locals and foreigners at Addington Primary School in Durban over enrollment of children. During his address at the 147th annual commemoration of the Battle of Isandlwana (where the Zulus under King Cetshwayo defeated the British on January 22, 1879 at Isandlwana Mountain), King Misuzulu focused on two main issues: He called for calm amid rising tensions between locals and foreign nationals, and expressed concern over personal insults on social media. The historic Battle of Isandlwana is a profoundly important event to the Zulu nation as it historicises their greatest military triumph over a superior British force during the Anglo-Zulu War. It symbolises Zulus' indomitable spirit and courage, hence their source of pride, heritage and honour. In Zimbabwe, it has close parallels to the Shangani Patrol or Battle of Pupu - which was mythologised across Rhodesia and the British Empire - where Ndebeles under the battling King Lobengula crushed a crack British military force on the banks of Shangani River on December 4, 1893 at the height of the Anglo-Ndebele War. King Misuzulu said while the issue of immigrants has been there for a long time, since the reign of his late father King Zwelithini, he would not want to talk too much about it due to Ukweshwama (Umkhosi Wokweshwama) - Inxwala in Zimbabwean Ndebele culture - and Inhlambelo ceremonies. Ukweshwama is a thanksgiving festival marking the start of the harvest season (eating of the first fruits), while Inhlambelo is a royal cleansing ceremony for the king. However, King Misuzulu said the problem of immigrants is further complicated by "our sisters who date Amakwelekwele" (South African derogatory term for foreigners, usually pronounced Amakwerekwere) and bear children with them. He said out of humanity - Ubuntu - Zulus must accept and embrace "abashana" (nephews and nieces born out of relationships between their women with foreigners), but let immigrants go back home. But King Misuzulu said Zulus must also understand that they need to build relations with other nations like the Vendas in South Africa and Ndebeles in Zimbabwe, whom he said are basically of Zulu origin, for instance. Strictly speaking, Ndebeles in Zimbabwe are a diverse nation composed of many different ethnic groups such as the Sotho, Venda, Kalanga, Tonga, Shangani, Nambya, and Shona, among other assimilated ethnicities, with the Ngunis, particularly those of Zulu descent, forming the core of the grouping, not a tribe. Similarly, Shona, the largest ethnic group in Zimbabwe, is not a tribe, but a conglomeration of tribes. Shona and Ndebele are treated as tribes in colonial ethnic construct, but in reality they are not, fueling tribal hostilities for centuries that have partly destroyed Zimbabwe. The King said he is working with government to address the source of growing tensions between locals and foreigners, saying immigrants, especially those who are in the country illegally, should stop showing disrespect to their hosts. KwaZulu-Natal Province Premier Thami Ntuli said that the spirit of Isandlwana, which demonstrated unity and courage, should inspire his people to confront current challenges like crime, drug abuse, and gender-based violence. King Misuzulu said he is lobbying the government to change the hyphenated compound name of his province, KwaZulu-Natal to simply KwaZulu as that is the real native home of Zulus, with the suffix Natal as a colonial relic.

Clashes between South Africans and foreigners have been rising in recent months, largely fueled by xenophobic campaigns by Dudula Movement and March and March, another radical xenophobic group. The situation was highlighted by recent clashes between locals and foreigners at Addington Primary School in Durban over enrollment of children. During his address at the 147th annual commemoration of the Battle of Isandlwana (where the Zulus under King Cetshwayo defeated the British on January 22, 1879 at Isandlwana Mountain), King Misuzulu focused on two main issues: He called for calm amid rising tensions between locals and foreign nationals, and expressed concern over personal insults on social media. The historic Battle of Isandlwana is a profoundly important event to the Zulu nation as it historicises their greatest military triumph over a superior British force during the Anglo-Zulu War. It symbolises Zulus' indomitable spirit and courage, hence their source of pride, heritage and honour. In Zimbabwe, it has close parallels to the Shangani Patrol or Battle of Pupu - which was mythologised across Rhodesia and the British Empire - where Ndebeles under the battling King Lobengula crushed a crack British military force on the banks of Shangani River on December 4, 1893 at the height of the Anglo-Ndebele War. King Misuzulu said while the issue of immigrants has been there for a long time, since the reign of his late father King Zwelithini, he would not want to talk too much about it due to Ukweshwama (Umkhosi Wokweshwama) - Inxwala in Zimbabwean Ndebele culture - and Inhlambelo ceremonies. Ukweshwama is a thanksgiving festival marking the start of the harvest season (eating of the first fruits), while Inhlambelo is a royal cleansing ceremony for the king. However, King Misuzulu said the problem of immigrants is further complicated by "our sisters who date Amakwelekwele" (South African derogatory term for foreigners, usually pronounced Amakwerekwere) and bear children with them. He said out of humanity - Ubuntu - Zulus must accept and embrace "abashana" (nephews and nieces born out of relationships between their women with foreigners), but let immigrants go back home. But King Misuzulu said Zulus must also understand that they need to build relations with other nations like the Vendas in South Africa and Ndebeles in Zimbabwe, whom he said are basically of Zulu origin, for instance. Strictly speaking, Ndebeles in Zimbabwe are a diverse nation composed of many different ethnic groups such as the Sotho, Venda, Kalanga, Tonga, Shangani, Nambya, and Shona, among other assimilated ethnicities, with the Ngunis, particularly those of Zulu descent, forming the core of the grouping, not a tribe. Similarly, Shona, the largest ethnic group in Zimbabwe, is not a tribe, but a conglomeration of tribes. Shona and Ndebele are treated as tribes in colonial ethnic construct, but in reality they are not, fueling tribal hostilities for centuries that have partly destroyed Zimbabwe. The King said he is working with government to address the source of growing tensions between locals and foreigners, saying immigrants, especially those who are in the country illegally, should stop showing disrespect to their hosts. KwaZulu-Natal Province Premier Thami Ntuli said that the spirit of Isandlwana, which demonstrated unity and courage, should inspire his people to confront current challenges like crime, drug abuse, and gender-based violence. King Misuzulu said he is lobbying the government to change the hyphenated compound name of his province, KwaZulu-Natal to simply KwaZulu as that is the real native home of Zulus, with the suffix Natal as a colonial relic.
