What's the reliability on these devices like? Dependable Lo-fi tech has a lower burden of ownership.

The good thing about a normal steel or porcelain sink is that the average person can understand it, repair it if a leak is found. Clean and use it without worrying about buttons, switches and electrics. Technology takes away practicality at times.
