How we make fresh food for 800 street dogs every single day in Thailand... It’s a huge operation now and it involves about 25 people every single day… 🥘 Pi Fa and her team cook it fresh every morning ⚖️ 200kg / 450lbs cooked per day 🛻 Delivered by truck to drop off fridges we have set up around the island for volunteers 🐕 Local feeders have their own dogs and feeding rounds. The food is 100% free for them. 🐶 We also provide it to several shelters for their permanent residents. 💰 It costs about $5000 USD per month to do this all included. That covers everything including ingredients 🥕 The recipes includes rice, chicken mince, eggs, carrots, kale, coconut oil 🛵 I feed 80 dogs myself and the food is also used for the sick dogs at Happy Doggo We do way more important things like funding the sterilising of 2200 dogs a month, life saving vet trips and rehoming dogs but to me I love seeing the food going out and the reception from the community. Many of the people involved in making it and distributing it are Thai which is crucial. 🐕 These dogs have very very little in life and have to scrap for everything but a good nutritious meal is one thing they know is coming daily.

A lot of sick dogs at the moment so this morning I loaded the bike with extra treats and just went to see the street dogs… 🛵 I feed 80 every single day 🥘 The food is cooked fresh daily and I give it to volunteers and shelters around the island. 800 dogs a day 🐕 People always wonder how the dogs look so healthy. The answer is they get medicines, fresh food and vet visits just like regular pets. My mission is to help street dogs all over the world but I’d never give this 90 minutes up every day. It keeps me close to the problem and those wagging tails fill me with joy. 🙏🥰

This is about 30% of the operations we run and it’s growing fast to help more dogs. I’d love to say it was getting quiet for the holidays but the dogs still need us. A busy day but dogs being saved everywhere as you can see ❤️

I never ever take for granted how lucky I am with my life. I just wish everybody in the world who loves dogs could get the same feeling. 🐕 Every single day I feed 80 street dogs and we now provide food for 1000 around the island to other volunteers 🥘 The food is cooked for 1000 dogs fresh daily by Happy Doggo and handed out 100% for free 🛵 The dogs all know the sound of the scooter coming and are often waiting in advance 💊 They all look so good because they get medicines and vet trips when needed ✂️ Feeding is a tiny part of what we do. We have now paid for the sterilising of 25,000 dogs It would be so easy for me to pay someone to do this but I never want to sacrifice this part of my day. It keeps my in touch with the dogs and no matter how tired I am just bounce out of bed thinking of them. Also just showing up and being there for the dogs is important for me as someone who is a recovering alcoholic. How could you possibly let those wonderful creatures down 🥰🙏

I still feed my own 80 street dogs daily. I’ve only missed 1 day in 17 months (traveling with Penny for operation). I could easily get someone to do it for me but the tail wags, smiles and joy they bring me helps my own depression and anxiety. The best start to a day 🥰🥰

2 years ago today I fed my very first street dog here in Thailand called Lucky. I'd been sober a year at that stage and was looking for something purposeful to do with my life. The absolute highlight of my day… 🥘 I feed 80 personally myself with all home cooked food ⏰ Most of them are out waiting for their food as dogs are great timekeepers 🛵 Some of them go by the pitch of the engine and hear it coming 🦊 Plenty of the dogs like Mr Fox in this video love the attention as much as the food. 8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ I provide this home cooked food to other volunteers and shelters around the island. 🥰 People always ask me why I wouldn’t outsource this part and save myself 90 mins each day of driving around. The answer is that it is like pure joy to me and it keeps me close to the bigger problem and ensures I never lose sight of that. My gf and I adopted a 1 year old pitbull mix who was left on the street as a puppy. He's now the highlight of our lives and is in the best home for him. Went from sleeping on the shelter floor to our bed. Please go to shelters when looking for dogs. They need you more than any other dogs.

Just served up the quarter of a millionth meal for 2023. 🥘 All freshly cooked daily by 3 lovely ladies 🛻 Takes 5 trucks to deliver the fresh produce now from the supermarket 👔 Mr Thumper was lucky diner 250,000. He dressed up for the occasion 💊 All the dogs here also have medicines, are sterilized and get vet visits if they need them. 🐶 800 very good boys and girls fed every single day

Rainy season has arrived and it makes feeding the street dogs a serious challenge… 🥘 We still make food for 800 dogs a day using fresh ingredients ⛈️ Koh Samui is a tropical island so the rainy season can last up to 6-7 weeks. 💦 The downpours are insane. Sometimes they go on for days without a break 🐕 Many of the dogs won’t come out. They find shelter under shacks, or big trees and stay there. Many hate the rain 🐶 Some of the dogs like Mr Fox and Oreo absolutely love the rain. They come out and play in the puddles without a care in the world The dogs get fed every day of the year. If they don’t come out I leave food in various dry places for them. The rain is kinda warm but it’s still pretty horrible to be out in 😅😅😅

⏰ I normally feed the dogs at 6.30am but couldn’t get out of bed until 9.30 today because of depression. 🙏 I could easily have got someone to cover and do it for me but wanted to force myself up. It was tough. 🐶 Anxiety too bad to deal with people today but the dogs and their happy tails helped immeasurably 🌴 Fresh air and doing something helps but as people with depression and anxiety know even a simple thing can seem monumentally hard. Feeding the dogs is the highlight of my day and I still struggled to get out and do it. Thinking of people who have to go to work, face hard social situations and can’t afford to not be in hard situations with their own anxiety / depression. 💤 I probably won’t get much more then this done today as I feel very rough but the dogs are fed and I feel like I achieved something even if I was moving like in quicksand

Today's menu was rich coconut rice and juicy air-fried turkey because feeding people is simply my love language. Fresh hair, good food, plenty of laughs... safe to say we both left happy. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feeds everyone that walks through the door. Big Mac passed yesterday. Decided not much point sitting around. There’s dogs to save… Saving street dogs is my mission but to do that takes a lot of money and a lot of awareness. I wanted to do something to really push things to another level… 🏃‍♂️ I will run a marathon on the 15th November. I have only started training today with 30 days to go. 🏙️ The race is in Bangkok at night. The most I have even run Iy life is 20km 🥘 I have been eating really badly lately and am very unfit. I’m going to share the journey over the next 30 days in what could be one of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever had. I have 3 main reasons to do it… 1. I was to raise awareness for Happy Doggo as a charity. (A follow there helps) 2. I want to try raise money for a mobile sterilizing unit with 10 staff and 2 trucks treating 5000 dogs a year. More on that soon. 3. My mental health hasn’t been amazing lately with so many losses so I wanted a good physical challenge to clear my head. I expect people to say it’s impossible and try talk me out of it like the team here all have! The chances are I’ll probably fail but life is short and I’ve a lot of dogs to help. I got a 5km in today to start which was tough but we are off and running. I’ll be sharing this series over on Happy Doggo daily 🤞🤞🤞
