Kitten update #25: We're starting to let the kittens explore more of the house. The soda cases are blocking the door gap to keep them from escaping, but it's also provided a convenient barrier that Buffy respects so that the door can be open and the kitties can decide whether to engage with her or not. So far, they have enthusiastically chosen YES. Fortunately, Buffy has realized that the face end tastes better than the tail end because it might have some cat food on it. Besides the dog time, they also got to have new experiences with wood floors (soooo slippery!), stairs (fun to leap on), and the robot vacuum (not really that scary but not really making friends either). I suspect the afternoon nap will be extra intense today.

China is smart. China learned from the US's successes, using only the best parts. It's our turn. We should be learning from China. China's economy is growing three times faster than that of the USA. China leads in almost all areas of science, and has the best infrastructure the world has ever seen. The number one priority of China is tell help their people become more prosperous, especially the least well off. Is there still work to be done. Hell yeah. But there difference is that they are trying and we are not. I've been to hundreds of Chinese villages, for more than a decade, and people are becoming better off each year. They call it 'Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.' We don't need to replicate their system. But we should be learning from it. For those ignoring it, you are hurting America. Pretending China's model isn't successful is preventing the US from improving and learning. The China-Haters should be ashamed of the damage that they are doing to the West. Instead of slander and Sinophobia, we need to be learning from the successes of other nations and their peoples.

Today we visited Power at 3 PM. The vets informed us that she didn't eat anything during the night, so they started an intravenous drip with fluids (saline/water) to keep her hydrated. Even during our visit she did not wanna eat anything, but we did manage to give her a solid 45 minutes of pure cuddles. We also received the three invoices covering the Operation that she will get on monday, daily hospitalization costs plus the full ultrasound they gave her. (and I'll upload them to the main GoFundMe page). The Veterinary confirmed that the operation will be an exploratory laparoscopy with a micro camera to see what's going on and there will be no actual removal of the mass just a biopsy of a small part of the tissue and lymph node to get analized. and that they will need to make a second surgery when her clinical situation get more clearer to get the mass removed and start the chemo. Sadly we have not yet a quote for those. Power will also get a gastric tube to make feeding her easier. With that, she will be able to come home to us wednesday while we wait for the removal surgery. She relaxed a lot during our visit and of course we will continue to update on her conditions daily! thank you so much to all the people that decided to help Power with the donations you have no idea how gratefull I am.

#ThoughtForTheDay Getting older is just a part of life, but for a Dog, it's the ultimate test of loyalty. We don't mind the grey on our muzzles or the cloudy eyes, as long as your hand is still there to steady us. We don't need to run for miles anymore; we just need to know that you'll walk at our pace, however slow that may be. If you are lucky enough to have an old Dog waiting for you today, please be gentle. Give them an extra minute to get up, a little boost when the stairs feel like mountains, and all the patience in the world. They spent their whole life rushing to the door for you; now, it's your turn to wait for them. The older #DogsOfTwitter 🐶 ❤️

OFFICIAL: KOWAKUJŌ WONDER WEAPON QUEST GUIDE BY evyn (goat) Collect all part for the Maneki Neko: Bell - In the Staging Area hanging off of a wooden beam, In the Traning Area hanging on top of the wallbuy to the right, In the Stables at the entrance of the buried house Karakuri - In the Storage Room near crates (more spawns tbd) Maneki-Neko - In the Kitchen on top of a barrel, In the Gatehouse on top of a barrel (more spawns tbd) At the Tenshu Eaves there is a cat trapped in a hanging cage opposite of Mule Kick. Knock it down using PhD Flopper, either wall jumping with the stuntman augment, or by flopping underneath. Pick up the cage, and take the cat to the Lava Pool in the Flower Garden. Get kills in the Flower Garden until paw prints spawn near the trap/stairs (seen with Death Perception). Get kills while standing on those paw prints until another set spawns. Keep repeating and following the Paw Prints until another an Abomination spawns, along with a cat. Kill the Abomination, and the cat will run away. Progress one round, and the cat will respawn in one of the rooms with the creaky floorboards (Training Area, Kitchens by the Mystery Box, Kitchen by Double Tap). You need to sneak up on the cat and interact with it to grab it. Failing this will scare the cat, causing it to run out of the map, and you will need to progress a round. With the cat picked up, take it to the seed near PAP. Interact with it to start a pulsing attack, and you need to avoid the pulses and melee the seed until the cat turns into the Wonder Weapon. Interact to equip it. It can be PAPed up to 3 times (4 in cursed t3)

At my wits end with my cat. Starting to resent him. TL:DR - cat constantly cries, and absolutely NOTHING works. Starting to resent the cat and causing relationship issues. At a complete loss about options. I’m at my complete wits end with my cat!!! He constantly cries. Non. Stop. We can’t take it anymore. He’s always cried a lot since he was a kitten, and he’s now 3 years old and nothing has changed. We have taken him to the vet multiple times and they can find nothing wrong with him. He’s an indoor only cat, and recently he started going outside to explore our apartment garden. He ended up running out the door one day, and since he didn’t stray far, we were giving him an hour outside each day to help burn off some energy. Now he wants to be outside constantly and will cry for literally hours when we bring him inside. He’s not one for cat toys, has never been interested in them. We have tried every single enriching activity and he does it once and never again. When we play with him (chasey or hide and seek) he’s bored after 5 mins. We tried Zylkene. We tried Feliway. Neither worked. We even trialled getting him a companion and that ended up terribly. We work from home 4 days a week and are around on the weekends. We are starting to resent him and it’s causing issues between me and my partner as we’re constantly stressed about him. We can’t give him up as pounds are full and he’ll be euthanised and none of our family members (with houses and yards) want to take him either as they don’t like him/hear horror stories from us. "I'm driving down the road this morning and the cars in front of me are driving over a black thing on the road. It's going between their tires, so I guess it's a box. It's a kitten sitting down, shaking like a leaf. And some asshole had smeared glue on his paws and stuck him to the road I thought he might have stepped in some glue somewhere but after looking at him it was totally smeared in her paws. She was wet, freezing and literally stuck to the road. And no one stopped. 😳 What the h#%l, people??? I braked hard and stopped all traffic , I put on my hazard lights, got out and pulled him out of the road. People were honking and all pissed off. ...really??? That's a kitten glued to the road!!! So after a bath, food and cream, we have a new kitten. The luckiest kitten in the world!"

Kitten update #30: Whoever recommended the boxing bag toy, it's been a hit! Of course my girl Lilith is the first to let her paws go. The kitties got to come into the studio for the first time yesterday. I now many of you are waiting for the inevitable stream and hoping the kitties will participate, but there's a bit of a problem a studio means cables everywhere, and (as I discovered) they can't be trusted around them. I can't take my eyes off them for a second. How do people protect their cables from kittens? It was never a problem with the puppies because they hated being scolded and learned fast not to touch them, but the kitties just look at me and laugh and stare me in the eye while taking a big chomp. Is there a non-duct tape solution?

Hi everyone Great news, we have sucesfully cashed out all the money from the wallet that the mom gave us, and this morning me and my brother, went to their village to give them the money in exchange for the solanas raised It took some effort and help from 28. Jun to prove that the crypto community actually raised all this money, but luckily they managed to pull it off. With the 19 000$ that we have raised + what 28Jun has raised, we have purchased a new home for them in their village ( il get the photos of that too) , as this one was not in great condition and it is too small for such a big family. I would like to thank u all for participating and proving that when its a good cause, we can all come together and help, no matter the country, race or nationality Here are some photos i took from this beautiful family

It's been several months since I curbed my phone addiction and it is so profoundly noticeable that my happiness has dramatically increased. I completely dropped doom scrolling, the news, politics, brain rot, and limit social media to mine and my friends' posts only. All the general negativity on the internet is like living in a home where everyone argues and is upset, even if it doesn't involve you and you don't engage with it, just being exposed to it every day is mentally draining. It's subtle, it creeps up slowly, and you don't even realize how mentally taxing it truly is. Now imagine the feeling of living in a home where everyone is peaceful and laughs, the feeling is equally infectious. You can even test this out by watching Friends or The Big Bang Theory with and without the laugh track on YouTube; spoiler, it's painfully cringe without it. The effect surrounding vibes have on your emotions is so strong, and it's hard to notice most of the time. I now find myself having uncontrollable fits of laughter at least once a week, which used to be closer to once a year. It's important to note that the things triggering these fits of laughing were always there, the difference is that my perception has changed. It's figuratively like a laugh track is playing in the background and all of a sudden, everything is now funny. I'm not trying to preach and tell people how to live their lives, but it's something I felt compelled to share since it's helped me so much. The habit was hard to break because the algorithm is designed to adapt to every person and lock you in, but I did it by substituting the phone with other things I enjoy. Right now it's learning the guitar and swimming. I'm developing skills I've never had, and it only compounds the feeling of happiness.

After 40 days of needless suffering for the American people, enough reasonable Democrats did the right thing and voted with us to end the Schumer Shutdown. We now have a path forward to put a stop to the damage of the shutdown and get back to work. I voted for the 15th time to reopen the government and to give hardworking Americans the pay and benefits they depend on. Ohioans can always count on me to be part of the solution.

In Canada, a cat was trapped inside a house during a fire. Firefighters entered the house to rescue the cat, but no matter what they did, the cat wouldn’t come out. Instead, it meowed at a firefighter and tried to lead him toward the kitchen. The firefighter followed the cat 😿 The cat stopped in front of a cabinet in the kitchen and tapped on it with its paws, asking for it to be opened. When the firefighter opened the cabinet, he saw that the mother cat had hidden her kitten there to protect it from the fire 🐾. In Canada, a cat was trapped inside a house during a fire. Firefighters entered the house to rescue the cat, but no matter what they did, the cat wouldn’t come out. Instead, it meowed at a firefighter and tried to lead him toward the kitchen. The firefighter followed the cat 😿 The cat stopped in front of a cabinet in the kitchen and tapped on it with its paws, asking for it to be opened. When the firefighter opened the cabinet, he saw that the mother cat had hidden her kitten there to protect it from the fire 🐾. Today we’re announcing our new Mentava Basics curriculum, aimed at kids who are still a bit too young for the standard Mentava curriculum. Here’s what people don’t understand about teaching a 2 or 3 year old to read: The necessary skills for reading don’t all develop at the same time. The ability to associate letters with sounds happens first, and at a pretty early age. If you think about it, learning “this funny shaped animal says moo” is pretty similar to learning “this funny shaped line says aaa.” However, the second necessary skill for reading is blending those letter sounds together, and kids often aren’t developmentally capable of doing that until at least 6-12 months later. Until today, our recommendation has been to wait until the child is developmentally ready to blend sounds. and then we just go full speed and teach them everything all at once, as fast as possible. But sometimes we have students who start a little younger. And then their parents are confused, because they see that their kids are having a ton of fun learning letter sounds super fast, but then are being gatekept from additional learning because they aren't yet developmentally ready to blend those sounds. That’s why we created the new Mentava Basics curriculum. Mentava Basics lets our youngest students focus on letter/sound pairings until they're developmentally ready to begin blending them. Mentava Basics takes the fun and delight of the core Mentava experience, but applies it to a curriculum that’s developmentally appropriate for even younger children. Mentava’s standard curriculum is still the fastest way to go from zero to reading, but with Mentava Basics now we can give kids a head start by helping them learn their letter sounds in advance. If your child is struggling with blending and you think it may just be a developmental readiness issue, you can use the grownup menu to switch into the Mentava Basics curriculum. We save your progress on both pathways, so you can switch back to our standard curriculum whenever you want.
