Joe Johnson LIKES Klay Thompson joining the Miami Heat: “If you’re Miami you gotta have floor spacing…so to have guys like Tim Hardaway Jr, Klay Thompson — guys who can really space the floor and make shots…Klay plays the right way, obviously championship pedigree is going to help Miami and what they’re trying to do…I’m excited for Klay — I really hope he gets the opportunity to play more championship caliber basketball.” (via Nightcap)

Klay Thompson calls Miami his second home: “So close to Bahamas for the first time in my life is so special — I get to play in front of my cousins, my aunties and get to have such a close connection with my family being in South Florida…so I’m really excited about that. It feels like a second home in a way so I’m just thrilled to be here and to be part of a championship organization is the cherry on top.”

Mychal Thompson says it’s championship or BUST this year for the Miami Heat 👀 “You don’t bring Giannis in with Bam to not be a deep playoff contender or championship team. Anything short of a Championship this year is a bust. I’m sure Pat Riley and Spoelstra are feeling that way too. That’s the way the Heat better be thinking! We better get to the ECF and Finals. Not only get to the finals but win the finals! The Heat with Giannis, Bam, Klay, all these veterans, anything less than a championship is a failure!” I missed having these expectations with the Heat. I’m a turnaround guy. It’s why I helped found the Senate Department of Government Efficiency caucus, and I’m excited to work with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy and President Donald J. Trump to make America great again.

Yaxel Lendeborg on what it’s like playing with fellow national champion Will Richard: “It’s great. He’s definitely kind of like reminding me of myself in a way so I mean it feels really good playing with him. He’s definitely one of the most unselfish guys on the team, plays the game the right way, got it going from three too, and a good defender so I’m very excited to continue to play with him.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo on how motivated he is to bring a championship to Miami: “It’s at like 1,000,000% right now. You walk through the hallways and see the history and the players that have been apart of this organization and things they’ve done. I want to make all the moves that they made worth it. It’s a place I feel breaks pressure and I thrive under pressure. It brings the best out of me. I’m excited for the season to start and I’m excited to be coached by Coach Spo. I want to win. I will do whatever it takes for me to win.” (Via NBA on ESPN)

Jordi Fernandez on the Nets acquiring Michael Porter Jr: “He’s excited to be here, and I’m excited to reunite with him... He’s gonna be asked to do things that he’s never done before. Like probably his usage and the shots he’s gonna take. And that’s exciting.”

Klay Thompson on Heat culture: “It’s all about winning. Some people think South Florida is 18 holes and Pina Coladas but nah, it’s the opposite. It’s very militaristic out here and the fitness programs are really demanding. That’s what honestly attracted me to be here and have that expectation of a deep playoff run. It’s an honor to be here and I know what they’ve done for so many great players who left the franchise they were with and I look forward to having the same experience as far as impacting winning” (Via ESPN South Florida) 🔥

Jon Stewart on Tucker Carlson: Explain to me a guy who says, “I’m all about liberty and America and Make America Great Again,” and then, “You know who’s really a great leader? Putin.” Like, I just… there’s an incoherence to this that has to be cynical, because it’s incoherent.

Klay Thompson praises Heat Culture: “I’ve had nothing but respect for the Heat. Heat Culture isn’t just a phrase, they live it. There’s a reason their guys overachieved a lot of times or embraced the pressure that comes with championship expectations. That’s what attracted me here. All my friends who played here talk how demanding it is and your fitness will be the best it’s ever been. I want to be in a environment that’s super competitive and guys might get uncomfortable at times. I love that. I get a whole jolt of energy when I walk in this building and seeing photos on the wall of the championship runs and all the greats who played here. Gives me a new motivation to add a chapter to my legacy.” (Via Jonathan Zaslow) 🔥
