Pete Alonso was sitting at his locker in the Orioles' clubhouse during media availability postgame, ready to address getting picked off to end the 8th inning and noting that he felt "awful." "I over-anticipated contact in the zone. For me, I kind of had a pretty big primary lead with 2 outs. There's multiple things I wanted to do. "I wanted to be able to get to 2nd if there was a ball hit to the infield, beat the throw, and then also, too, if there's a ball hit in the outfield -- either in the gap or down the line -- I would give myself the best chance to score. "So it was kind of my momentum, I was anticipating contact, but they did a -- I mean, it was a hell of a throw. It was a hell of a throw, great tag. Great play by them to take advantage of the situation. This runner at first was caught in a pick off move by the pitcher. Pitcher throws to first and the first baseman fires to second and the umpire calls him out. He looked safe on the play. However, the umpire admits he was safe but said he called him out because the other team was losing 10-0 in the first inning. He said “he was so safe but I just gave it to them.” Basically saying we gotta’ get the game moving right? Fellow umpires, some coaches and parents said they respect the call and why. But many people said you are cheating that one runner by calling him out. They said no matter the score you have to have integrity even if it is 20-0. They said this is why kids grow up disliking umpires and why parents act the way they do. Tough one- I actually understand where he is coming from but if that were your kid, would you want him called out? I say call the game the right way 100% and let it play out the way it is supposed to. How is the other team supposed to get better if you are giving them calls? Do you agree with the umpire and why he did it? Or, are you totally against that and that should never happen?

Rockies down 2-0 in the bottom of the 9th with runners on 1B & 2B & they base hit bunt. The Red Sox are not surprised. They close with their 3B & 1B BUT their second baseman is way out of position to get to 1B before Cole Carrigg(A plus runner). In this situation the 2B can’t hold the runner on 2B & beat Carrigg to 1B. Looked like everything slowed down due to his lateness getting to 1st base. The SS has to hold the runner at 2B & the 2B has to cheat his positioning towards 1B so he beats Carrigg. It appears like they are hedging their positioning to protect the 6 hole in case Carrigg swings the bat. You can’t play everywhere. If you expect a bunt, you have to be in the best position to defend the bunt. The bunt was excellent. It was an early turn base hit bunt. Great direction & speed. The BHB choice put Carrigg in a better position to get out of the box fast(After seeing the ball down) & just beat the play to 1B. Of course you can argue that both teams did what they were supposed to do & the Rockies just out executed the Red Sox.

Yo Jaylen Brown y'all needed to win by 23 so the final 8 minutes were clutch time tonight... U lead by 30 and almost blew it (won by 24) because of b2b plays like this. We all know u never pass to Tatum, but this outrageous man! He was too open to not hit him.. especially the second one. Do u even see the play, or are u too panicked in clutch time to look for the guy? There's no need to throw up wild forced shots, ever. U got lucky the first one went in btw. Crazy fucking take when u had wide open teammates all over the perimeter. Kick it out!

Aidan O'Connell gets sacked on his final play last night and in my opinion the sack is on the #Raiders QB just as much as it is on LT Andrus Peat. AOC has a 3 step drop which means the play is designed for him to get the ball out quick. If you don't get the ball out then a QB is going to need to Create something. But what you don't want him to do is back pedal into a sack. Peat does lose the rep, but he does a good job recovering and pushing the DE up the field. I think AOC's ability to feel pressure, get away from it, and throw on the run were some things I saw from him last year where he struggled with. So I do hope next week he shows a little bit more in that. Overall the play didn't work because Luke Getsy designed a really poor play where the spacing is off, I will talk about this more on my Youtube channel later today but you can clearly see that Bowers was supposed to be a natural pick for Tre Tucker at the bottom of the screen. But the spacing didn't work and the WR and TE run into each other.

At 54, here’s something I think about a lot: The good old days don’t feel like it at the time. It feels more like struggle. From the age of 25 to 45, you’re in the thick of it—building a career, raising kids, trying to get ahead (or just keep up with life). It’s so easy to lose perspective and forget that… You’re in the sweet spot. One day you’ll look back on that struggle as the best of times. Every season of life has its pros and cons—triumphs and challenges—but there’s nothing quite like the prime adult years. So what are we to do about it? Simply recognize that you’re living your good old days right now. Slow down. Savor it. Smell the roses. Because I’m here to tell you… The days are long, but the years fly by. 🎥: First flight for my younger daughter. I thought I was climbing the mountain—little did I know I was standing on the peak.

For years, the left shrieked that every Trump comment about the immigration crisis was "stochastic terrorism" that would lead MAGA mobs to attack and murder immigrants or Muslims. It never happened, beause the concept was absurd: Conservatives are naturally law-abiding and goodhearted people. Like so many left-wing allegations, it was pure projection, and we're seeing it unfold. Now that they've lost power, radical leftists are creating online maps to encourage attacks on Tesla dealerships, Tesla owners, and the family members of DOGE staff. Forty-seven percent of "very liberal" Americans are favorable to Luigi Mangione. Leading personalities are either giving violence a wink and a nod, or simply cheering it on openly, just like they cheered on the worst riots in half a century as "mostly peaceful protests." The left loves revolutionary violence as their backup option when voting doesn't go their way. But we have a backup option too. Burn a Tesla dealership, get life in prison without parole on a terrorism charge. Play terrorist games, win terrorist prizes.

Regarding the Eric Trump / Daniel Cormier “text scandal”, I am open to being convinced otherwise, but I do not believe for one second that Eric Trump would text something so stupid to Daniel Cormier. It’s laughably stupid on its face to think that Eric Trump would ask a UFC commentator if any of the fights are “rigged”. That he would ask it in writing. And that he would not, for example, just pick up the phone and call Dana White or Joe Rogan himself. That said, I just want to understand what happened. Daniel Cormier said he was hacked. Is that to say he was hacked at the text level, or the X post level? Did he in fact make the post, and delete it? If he made the post, did he do it as a joke to illustrate how absurd the text hack was, but realized how the post could be misinterpreted as real? Or did someone make the post from his X account he subsequently deleted it. I know there are some who are going to say he made the post in earnest, thinking the text messages were real, intending to call out the “corruption”, and he has since been threatened, deleted the post, and claimed “hack”, etc. I can tell you exactly why I do not believe, even if he made the post, he did it believing the text message was real, intending to call out the “corruption”. If Cormier seriously thought the text messages were real, he would understand that by posting it publicly, it would literally destroy the UFC, his livelihood and his legacy - in addition to the legacy of everyone who has ever competed in the UFC. There is no realm of the universe in which even if it were in fact a real text that he actually received from Eric Trump, he would post it publicly. Because it would mean the end of the UFC. I just want to know if he actually made the post from his X account, or if the entire post was the result of a hack (hence the subsequent deleting of the post). "A little boy on a filthy mattress had already learned to fear footsteps in the dark. By the time Deputy Mason Cole reached the back room, the child was clutching a dirty stuffed animal so tightly it looked like the toy was the only thing keeping him together. Neighbors had called after hearing a child crying inside a house that was supposed to be empty. The property had been in foreclosure for months, the power was cut, and the windows were boarded over. When Mason forced the door open, the smell hit him first. Trash covered the floor, and somewhere deeper in the house a thin, broken whimper kept rising through the silence. That sound led him down a narrow hallway to a cluttered bedroom in the back. Sitting on a stained mattress surrounded by snack wrappers was a 3 year old boy named Eli, his face streaked with dirt, his hair matted, and his whole body curled around that stuffed animal like it was a shield. One look at him told Mason this wasn't a child who had been left alone for an hour. Fear had sunk too deeply into him, and hunger had already pulled the strength out of his face. Later, the truth came together piece by piece. Eli’s mother was a severe addict who had broken into the empty house to squat, then walked out 3 days earlier to drink and get high and never came back. Mason didn't stay in the doorway and manage the room from a distance. He stepped across the mess on the floor, climbed onto the dirty mattress, and lowered himself beside the trembling boy so he wouldn't feel another adult towering over him. “Hey. Hey. You’re okay.” Eli flinched at first and pulled the stuffed animal tighter against his chest. Tears filled his eyes when he looked up, and the words that came out were barely louder than a whisper. “I was scared.” Mason’s voice dropped even softer. “I know that. You’re safe now.” No answer came right away. Every muscle in the boy’s body stayed tight for another second, like he was waiting to find out whether those words were true. Mason wrapped an arm around him carefully and stayed still. “Believe me,” he said. “I’m not leaving.” Something shifted in that moment. Eli stopped curling away and leaned into the deputy’s chest instead, the fear finally breaking loose in a hard, shaking sob. A partner standing nearby caught the quiet scene for a second before they carried the boy out of the dark house and into the warm patrol car. Mason kept talking to him the whole time. “We’re going to get you warm. Get you something to eat. It’s okay.” A long breath caught in the boy’s throat before he cried again, smaller this time. Mason held him close and gave him the one thing that had been missing from that house for days. “You don’t have to be scared anymore.” By the time they reached the car, Eli wasn't clutching the stuffed animal quite as hard. His head was resting against Mason’s uniform, and for the first time since anyone had found him, he looked like a child who believed help had really come. Today, Eli is in a safe foster home where he has clean clothes, regular meals, and a bed that doesn’t smell like garbage and rot. Mason still checks on him, making sure the little boy who was found crying in the dark knows somebody did come back for him after all.

UPDATE: Charlie Kirk Blood Spatter, Earpiece, or Necklace? This video is going viral from someone named RangeDayBro on YouTube, saying this is 100% evidence Charlie was shot in the head, BUT… it’s kinda wrong. I was the original person to point out that something looked like it hit Charlies right side of his head when it happened… when I first started looking, I thought the exact same thing he did about the “Blood Splatter”. But I kept slowing down the video, and discovered what appears to be an earpiece or necklace. He also gets the “FLASH” wrong, 100% wrong. Stating that’s where the shooter was.. then said he was hiding in the bush. After combing through video footage, I found what I believe to be 100% the muzzle flash. The shot did not and could not have come from that location because it’s merely the top window panel of the interior hall of flags (I think that’s what it’s called.) The muzzle flash was 100% a reflection off that glass panel from a far off distance, notably in the same general direction they said the shooter was. (See post below) Conclusion: Now, I’m not saying he couldn’t have been shot from anywhere else.. nor in any direction. In fact, I don’t buy the story at all that his neck bones stopped that bullet. As we saw that day, there were several distractions, which I feel played a significant role to allow the real people to get away. I’m only saying his suggestion about the “blood spatter” is just his earpiece or most likely a necklace... It’s important to be accurate and process eliminate these things. Maybe Turning Point USA can confirm if in fact his necklace did pop off, it could settle some of these “theories”. All we want is the truth.

Instead of just talking about it, I wanted to go through it and really break it down to figure out the exact reason for the difference in Jalen Duren's play between the regular season and the playoffs. *LONG BREAKDOWN COMING* First, lets list how much the difference was: Iso in RS: 82nd %ile Iso in PS: 21st %ile Post-ups in RS: 88th %ile Post-ups in PS: 59th %ile PPP on drives in RS: 1.18 ppp PPP on drives in PS: 0.80 Layups in RS: 79th %ile Layups in PS: 19th %ile It was a staggering drop off. Shocking to many of us who watched him all season. So, what happened? Well, #1 I think mentally he was letting his struggles get to him and he started to play out of control. Something that suggests this to me is this stat: He started to figure some things out himself in isolation over the last 2 games against the Cavs. He had six isolation possessions in the final two games against the Cavs; he scored on five of those possessions and drew a foul on the other. Game 6 he started to look confident and really made them pay out of isolation. I really think a ton of it was he got hit with a punch early against ORL and really struggled to handle the pressure and struggles after, and just kept stacking and stacking. So, him being in his own head is #1 for me. #2: His handle got exposed quite a bit. In the regular season, he only had a 4.2 TO% in isolation, which is incredible. In the playoffs, though, that spiked to 20 TO%. On drives in the RS, he had a TO% of 4%. In the PS, it jumped to 13.3%. The first clip below shows how the right-to-left cross he loved doing all season was really taken away from him. Too loose of a handle, and he often got his pocket picked trying this exact move over and over. I think having his go-to move taken from him shook him a bit and left him scrambling a bit in his head to find a counter. The second clip shows, imo, him starting to lose trust in his handle. He immediately turns his back to the defender, which is what you do when you're worried about losing the ball. But, even then, he loses control of the handle and it ends up in a turnover. If I'm the Pistons, I'm showing all his turnovers due to his handle and working with him on tightening his handle and also helping him get comfortable with a counter/second move so defenders don't just sit on the right-to-left cross. #3: I think he really struggled to adjust to the playoff whistle. In the regular season, he drew free throws on 21% of his isolations and 31% of his post-ups. In the PS, it dropped to 14% and 11%, respectively. There were many possessions where in the RS he would've got free throws, but did not in the PS and he was frustrated. In the third clip, you'll see how physical he was being played by Mobley (which we all want physicality in the game). But, in the RS, he probably is getting FTA's here. There are many examples of this where it felt like a lot of his value during the RS was being able to draw FTA's on his drives, and in the PS, refs just allowed more physicality, and he struggled to deal with it. #4: Ausar-Duren duo. I believe in this duo, and I do not think this was the main reason Duren struggled. However, I am not blind to the fact that there were obviously some possessions that hurt Duren. In the regular season, Duen actually got less efficient when Ausar wasn't on the floor. However, in the playoffs, Duren went from 51 TS% with Ausar on the floor (302 minutes) to 64 TS% with Ausar off the floor (121 minutes). In the 4th clip, you really see how the lack of spacing caused a tough shot from Duren. He gets a step on WCJ going right, and probably would prefer to then just use his strength to create spearation. However, he sees Suggs sitting in the right gap off of Ausar, which forces him to spin left. Once he spins left, Paolo is completely leaving Tobias open. This is one of the reasons I really think DET needs a spacing 4 because this should be an easy kickout from Duren to a shooter. He still should've made this pass to Tobias, but a legit shooting 4 I think would relocate to the corner and make an easier outlet/easier to see for Duren. But, he still coulda made the pass, tbf. Either way, you see how the lack of spacing from both Ausar and Tobias forced Duren into a really awkward drive where he was forced into an extremely tough shot. I think if the passing returned from Duren, some of these situations wouldn't happen. Hitting Ausar early as he cuts into the space would work, or hitting Tobias (who again shoulda be making himself more available) beyond the arc results in better offense. But, also, having better spacing probably allows Duren to just get to his original move once he beats WCJ off the dribble. and lastly #5: He really just didn't play well. I can't include any more clips (I'll put some in the immediate thread reply to display), but he really just didn't play well. Missed *a lot* of looks we're used to him making. His touch around the rim left him, looked like he really felt rushed in the paint. He was struggling to secure rebounds after dominating the glass all season (during the RS, he averaged 4.3 second chance points a game, in the PS it dropped to 2.3). During RS, he had a 22.0 DREB%, which dropped to 16.0% in the playoffs. So, I think a lot of factors played into why he struggled so much in the playoffs. My takeaway is I don't think these things are unfixable; actually, I think they're very fixable. Experience of dealing with what playoff physicality is I think is going to help moving forward. All young players have to adjust to that--I think Cade really learned that from NY series to this playoff run. Tightening his handle and just having a second move to go to is not something that should be considered impossible. I'd like to believe it's pretty likely with how much he works and the raw skill he already has with his handle. Pistons adding a legit spacer at the four I think solves a lot and will make Duren's life a lot easier. The most concerning part is mental. And we won't know an answer to that until the next playoffs. Did this experience help him on his journey towards becoming mentally strong and prepared enough to move forward? Did this run help him find a routine that helps him lock in mentally, as many players have said they had to discover? Or will the pressure from struggling last postseason get to him this upcoming postseason? Will he let mistakes get into his head, compound them, and start playing rashly? I don't think the second option will be the case, but no one will know until the next postseason. Honestly, I'm more concerned and critical of his defense in the playoffs (which at times was pretty good and at other times was an incredible struggle), but that would require its own thread. My ending thoughts: I still very much believe in Duren. This playoff run showed he has areas he must sharpen up and learn from, but at 22 that shouldn't be a shocker. He is incredibly talented and made a large jump during the RS. The PS posed challenges he didn't quite have answers to yet. But another run of experience, another offseason of training, and another year older should lead him down a good path. I am fully supportive of paying Duren and extending him. I am not at close to 50 million dollars. 35-40 million is where I think they'll settle on, and I'm fine with that. But, he's gotta learn from these playoffs! Officially moving on from Tech game after I get this thought off my chest. I more than welcome anyone smarter than me in regards to the football to chime in. I truly, truly, truly cannot wrap my head around the thought process here. These two plays I'm sure anyone with brain can agree officially sealed KU's slim chances in having a chance to win this game. The play calling to me seems like completely flipped in logic at best? First one, you are down 4, on your own 30 so you are not going to go for this. Ignoring that we were getting dominated in the trenches in this game and that the 'obvious' play is a run, I don't get why we make the decision in a must get spot to take the ball out of our QB's (who at the time was rolling) hands. Jalon Daniels is our best player. In an absolute must get/need, we should be relying on him to make a play. Then the second one. I obviously don't know the answer here, but I feel somewhat confident that the reason we didn't run here was because of how the earlier 3rd & 1 run went. While I don't necessarily agree with the premise of decision making on this alone, I can appreciate the recognition that we are going to struggle to gain a yard in an obvious run situation. But the thing is, we are in go for it range so the one thing you absolutely cannot have is a massive negative play. Literally anything else is okay (obviously not a turnover). I truly don't think there's a good chance we run the ball on this attempt and get a yard. But THIS situation gives you a free shot at it if you want to take it. I think this play call would have worked if we didn't let their best player run at our qb freely but I'd just argue this play had a ton of potential risk that wasn't necessary. Hell even a play action pass out of out shot gun or something rolling JD out to the left would have given us a good shot at first down with an escape route to bail out on the play if something went wrong. I'm once again for the millionth time saying I know and understand that this entire staff knows more about football in their pinky than I do. But I do think the game has evolved and game + clock management doesn't really require football knowledge/have a direct correlation to one's football knowledge. It's not as simple as ESPN's graphic says GO so you should go etc, there are variables and human behavior etc to deal with and I understand that. But we are just getting these situations downright wrong. We are flipping a coin that has a 20 pound weight attached to the heads side and calling tails almost every single time. S/O anyone who read all this but would just love some insight if there's anyone who disagrees and is a lot smarter than I!
