Young people, study the constitution and know your rights. Once you start making money get yourself a good lawyer. Lastly, know your rights as a citizen.

From the look of things, it seems many officers either don't know these sections at all or they know them perfectly well but still choose to do anyhow. Police arrested me yesterday in Asaba In stop and search, For just a statement I made. “ I have the right to video anything happening around me”Boom they arrested me. Seriously we are fucked in this country 💔

I completely align myself with your take. It’s quite baffling why ‘reasonable suspicion’ is always been glossed over as if it isn’t a most pertinent requirement for ‘probable cause’. I do hope one day our laws are interpreted in ways that serve the citizens rather than disservice

Majority of the Nigeria police officers are not that educated to know most of these laws. They don’t even know if the law exist or not, they have no idea. I wonder what they teach them in Nigeria police academy. Trying to explain all these to them would sound as insult to them.
