This series ended the Kobe vs Duncan debate. Getting gentlemen swept by your rival with a good team should be unacceptable but for Duncan it’s swept under the rug when comparing the two. Kobe swept Duncan once and gentlemen swept him twice. Once was right here in front of everyone in 2008. No Shaq and his second option Gasol put up 13 PPG. Kobe finished the series 29PPG on 53% shooting while playing excellent defense. This ended the debate I’m sorry.

Total BS. Kobe is ranked 10 or 11th all time Bill Simmons Tell me once when any player ever uttered “Kobe is my GOAT”. Name one player who stated “Duncan is the toughest to guard in the league”. Never been said once. But for Kobe, it’s said. “Duncan is our Jordan”. Never said about Duncan, but said about Kobe. Why don’t these people ever mention Duncan getting clapped up by Kobe in 2008? They crying that Pau Gasol should have won FMVP when in game 6 it was already widely known that EVEN IF THE LAKERS LOST the Finals Kobe would be the FMVP of the series. But they didn’t lose. And I give Pau Gasol credit for stepping up in game 7 but Kobe needed his contribution considering he’s was getting doubled and tripled all series.
