Indian Army Undertakes Swift Rescue Operations in Jammu Sector Indian Army has launched extensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations in flood-affected areas of Jammu region, deploying multiple rescue columns and helicopters to evacuate stranded civilians, students, and security personnel. *Jammu Sector Operations* As on 26 August evening, four rescue columns were deployed at different locations in Jammu: •Garhi Garh, RS Pura Sector: Seven civilians, including one child, were rescued. Operation completed. •Shergarh, RS Pura Sector: Around 10–12 civilians trapped inside a building are being rescued. •Sher-e-Kashmir University, Jammu: Rescue efforts are underway to evacuate students stranded inside a university building. •Swahanjana: Rescue column is working to evacuate students trapped at a Government School. *Mamun Sector Operations* In Mamun sector, coordinated ground and helicopter rescue missions are ongoing: •Kachle Village: Seven civilians were airlifted to Taragarh Government Senior Secondary School. •Shahpur Kandi: Two individuals rescued by helicopter. •Nikka BOP: Eleven BSF personnel safely evacuated. •Bhariyal: Evacuation underway for about 50 civilians and nine Army personnel trapped at the post. •Zainpir Kukkar: Helicopter rescue operations in progress. •Amli Village: Nine civilians rescued with helicopter assistance due to landslides and inaccessibility. •Nad Village: Rising water levels hampered ground rescue; civilians were successfully evacuated with the help of police boats. •Makaura Village: Nearly 70 civilians stranded by floods have been shifted to safety using boats.

#WayanadLandslides In a remarkable display of coordinated efforts, #IndianArmy Columns along with #NDRF, State rescue teams, #CoastGuard, #IndianNavy and #IAF, have been relentlessly working to address the crisis. Upto 1000 personnel rescued so far using man made bridge and human effort. Approx 70 dead bodies recovered by Army column Two additional Army Columns air lifted from Trivandrum by Indian Air Force Air Craft AN 32 & C 130 landed at Calicut at 10:30 PM last night. These columns commenced their onward journey to #Wayanad at 6:45 AM today, with even an Army Officer on leave volunteering to join the mission. Engineer Task Force from the Madras Engineer Group and Centre arrived on-site at 02:00 AM. A class 24, 170 Ft bridge is planned to be erected at Chooralmala. Reconnaissance at Meppadi-Chooralmala Road underway. Essential bridging assets to include three sets of Bailey Bridges, JCBs and TATRA trucks, are en route to #Wayanad and likely to reach by 02:00 PM Furthermore, bridging assets from Delhi, along with three sniffer dogs, have been airlifted by the Indian Air Force Aircraft C 130 and are expected to reach #Kannur shortly, with subsequent road movement to Wayanad being coordinated with civil administration. Army Control centre, co-located with State Administration Control Room established at Mepaddi by Commandant PARA Regimental centre.
