EmaXesibeni in Eastern Cape looking this empty tells you everything. Shutting down foreign-owned shops means nothing if South Africans are not stepping in to trade and keep our towns alive. This shows how much we’ve lost control of our own towns. We can’t celebrate empty streets. The goal should be to put our own people in control of the economy here. Until that happens, we are just stuck.

A lot of people struggle with RDLs. Yesterday I posted about studying great execution and named Michele Aycock as one of the best examples of near-perfect form. This very short clip is a masterclass that you should study the next time you perform RDLs. Hips back is the primary cue to begin the movement under TOTAL control. Notice she sits in the stretch for a second with the weight on the ground while keeping her chest proud? Then, by activating her glutes & hamstrings, pulls herself up and squeezes hard before CONTROLLING the weight down. STUDY before you EXECUTE

I want parents to really think about this. Imagine paying good money for lessons because you care about your daughter’s long-term development… and the first thing you’re told is that “swinging down isn’t correct.” Instead it’s barrel depth, elite path, and swinging up because “that’s what the pros do.” That’s where development goes backwards. Most young athletes aren’t broken they’re underdeveloped in movement. They don’t understand shoulder angles, how to get on top of the ball, situational hitting, or how the body actually organizes a swing. That’s not their fault. That’s instruction skipping steps. In my cage, athletes do not swing up first. They have to earn the right to swing up by first owning the down. We stay at the top of the zone, learn how to find the down, and teach how the shoulders orient the swing. The up isn’t cued or forced it’s a byproduct of correct movement. What floors me is how often kids, especially in softball, are taught to swing up immediately. How do you start middle-down and swing up in a sport where the ball is traveling on an upward plane? It makes no sense. Baseball and softball mechanics are the same the body doesn’t change. But instruction must start differently because pitch plane is different. Baseball breaks down. Softball rise spins up. If a softball hitter can’t control the down out front, they’ll never handle elite rise. Once control is there, the femur turns down, the torso gets pulled up, and the natural up shows itself. No forcing. No manipulation. I can post videos like this all day. I’m not teaching a “style.” I’m teaching how the body is designed to move. I’m demanding because parents invest real time and money, and I won’t waste either. If you want game swings that hold up to velocity and plane find the down!

Pamela Anderson keeps refusing the easiest job in entertainment: play the victim. I knew her as a Playmate and a Baywatch star. What she’s doing now is more interesting. At the amfAR gala in Venice this weekend she took the Award of Courage and said a doctor once told her hepatitis C was a death sentence. She paid for the cure herself and beat it. Then she said the line Hollywood still can’t stand: she’s not a victim, she’s a victor, and she’s not the damsel in distress no matter how easy that role is to play. That isn’t branding. It’s why the late work landed. You don’t hear her complaining that the roles dried up. What Anderson is doing is called being a professional. The tape, the marriages, the illness, the childhood damage were all sitting there as a pity career. She didn’t take it. She used those years as material instead of a brand. That’s a real feminism. Resilience is not a speech. It’s what you do after the speech. The no-makeup looks and the second act she built herself are the proof. She took control and remade her stardom.

Just lost ALL Autopilot, FSD, even basic cruise control and Tesla Technical Assistance says they can’t do anything and apparently my car needs to go to a service center for a software update even though there are no warnings on the car. I got an FSD strike and the whole system went down. They said they can’t turn FSD back on and forgive the strikes remotely even though they did just that in January 2025 for the California fires. When I drove from Nevada into California back then my 4 strikes disappeared. Even the Tesla Technical Assistance Supervisor (who was very nice) says they have no way to fix the car remotely and it must go to a service center. Unfortunately, now I need to drive over 1000 miles with no type of cruise control or driver assistance at all. There are no warning lights on or anything of the sort. I even did a forced software update via the service mode and my Starlink, plus a few hard and soft reboots and that still did not fix it. Sadly the car is now less safe than it was a few minutes ago.
