AND THIS IS WHY LAUFEY STORY WILL GIVE US SO MUCH INSIGHT TO HOW TF CAN ONE MAN WHO WAS SUCH A MENACE TURN INTO THIS WISE MAN.... she was a good 90 percent of that reason he is who he is rn she deserves her own story game and it also will be bringing old and new gods together!

Exactly! She is clearly the one who influenced him into becoming the man he is today and now the new game will finally let us get to know her properly. Really looking forward to that!

Well said its still crazy to think that the "fans" that glaze the greek era games want him to become his greek self again.

Profilbild von Elia

They want his character development to be completely undone and for him to end up right back where he started, full of rage and hatred.. Why do those 'fans' want him to suffer instead of finding peace? 😭

@o_akinfenwa Probably because he's the god of war, not peace.

Profilbild von Savinsky

@luscielia You clearly don't understand the character and the cycle of violence that he endures. Last I checked the series is still called god of war, that's who he will always be. No fan fiction will change that

@luscielia It's not even fan fic bruh u clearly don’t understand that the character development Kratos has undergone in the Norse era is him growing beyond being The God of War. The whole mural at the end of Ragnarok was him being worshipped as The God of Hope.

No, Kratos started as a man consumed by guilt and regret. Consumed and tormented by the memories of slaying his family. GOW1 was about Kratos seeking forgiveness for his past. It wasn’t until GOW2 that we see the vengeance arc begin, but even so with all the prequels we see that Kratos is a multidimensional character. Before the vengeance arc we see a more human side Kratos. Losing his brother Deimos, losing his first wife Lysandra and daughter Calliope. His overall arc is of a man who loved and lost, completely consumed by rage and hatred, who regains his ability to love again and forgive himself.

This will hit very Differently and very Emotionally for someone (me) who has been with the franchise from the PS2 days. The growth of Kratos as a character from GOW 1 to GOW Ghost of Sparta to GOW 3's ending to GOW Rag's ending and then finally to the end of GOW Valhalla. 🥹

This is why I love Christopher Judge as Kratos VA in these 2 games. His voice carried so much and because of it it also showed so much growth. It’s hard not to love it

Everyone is capable of feeling rage and everyone should allow themselves to cry when they're hurting. It doesn't make you feminine, it makes you human.

"You have always been more than what others say..." hits when you realize ppl often forget that Kratos was already a father long before Atreus and Faye.

If Atreus were to die, would kratos return to the man of vengeance he once was and throw the Norse realm into chaos also? Or would he do things differently?? I always wondered that when I finished Ragnarok.

Kratos has been with me since the first game. When 2018 came out it gave me strength to drive out to California without visiting or knowing anybody and live. To be better, I was coming off a non stop grind of working, women, concerts, drinking, smoking, and gaming. Out running pain on an empty tank. “The most difficult battles are the ones we fight within” Kratos story and the moments within completely resonated with me. “A path one I had never imagined”. I fell in love with hiking, and 2 months into it I was day hiking notable mountains to the soundtracks, sober, focused and disciplined. Ascending in my career. Totally present in life. If something resonates with you keep it sacred. Whatever form the next game comes in we are being blessed with more God of War.

I always thought this scene is also setting the record straight. Kratos never was 1-dimensional. People have made a caricature out him post Ascension's release and SM even leaned into that cliche in the marketing for 2018. This scene almost feels like an apology to old Kratos.

Profilbild von Leeroy Jenkins

You foids just need to dissappear from the space. Your soy sobstories is not what this is about. Noon cares you would want your father to do the same so stop projecting. Everybody who loves Kratos loves him because of who he was before not the cuck husband.

This isn’t good character development it’s just retardation. Kratos genocided the Greek world and now the game portrays him as this loving father who slow to anger it’s fucking retarded Like ok it took you centuries to realize what you did was wrong?

That symbol of hope used a sex slave to be slowly crushed so he can pass through a gate :D I don't really buy this, it's like Jeffrey Dahmer becoming a hero. I feel like Kratos should grow as a character, but he should never be able to do a complete 180.

Kratos arc is not only the most accomplished, but a milestone in the evolution of video game storytelling from an annihilating god of war to a deity of hope God of Hope, embodying the redemptive possibility of the human or divine being in the face of the abyss of his own actions.

Yeah I just wish they kept him Greek at this point I miss when my boy was a cookie cutter angry guy who just wanted to kill things. Not that I don’t like the story the series was just more fun back then lol

Profilbild von Esteban Martin

His arc is unique because it spans two entire pantheons Greek and Norse, allowing for evolution over more than 15 years of games. In the Greek saga, he destroys Olympus in revenge; in the Norse, he learns that destruction solves nothing

Kratos started as a spartan but on the verge of death. He sold his soul to Aries, who used him and made him end his family. He then sought revenge and got it but was betrayed by the gods who promised him peace. GOW was a mans endless pursuit for inner peace. Not this feminized bs

Stratosphere was our biggest and heaviest character on #Transformers ROTB. He was a real challenge to deal with on the Modeling, Texturing, and Rendering side. He had 1434 UDIMs due to his immense scale and was made up of tens of thousands of objects. His level of detail was truly something else. His vehicle form was also a behemoth. We had also built a mortar for his robot form and a cannon for his vehicle form but neither of these made it into the film as his part in the final battle was cut out. He was originally supposed to help out in the final battle, using both of these weapons against the Sweepers and Predacons. The decision to cut him from the final act came very late as all of his assets were final at that point. We were never told the reason why his role was cut from the film. I had to re-design my texturing system in Mari when working on him to ensure that it could handle such a complex and large character. I had to simplify a lot of the procedural systems and even had to branch off some of them into their own files to ensure that artists could work with somewhat decent performance. We ran into a lot of issues pushing him through our pipeline, both as a model as well as rendering him due to the sheer amount of objects and textures that had to be processed. For shots, it was requested by Lighting that we reduce his memory footprint as Google had complained he was taking up too much memory and their I/O for rendering on the cloud was being affected. The leadership team and I decided that the best way to do this was to half the texel density on the parts that wouldn't be visible in our approved shots and to also half the resolution of the textures in the parts not visible to camera. This allowed us to optimize his memory footprint both in shots as well as storage and I/O. It was massive technical undertaking working on Stratosphere, so much so that we had to delay getting him into shots as we simply couldn't push him through with our normal tooling. I really enjoyed the challenge that he posed for us as a team.
