The brother of martyred journalist Anas Al-Sharif revealed in an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher that four days before his assassination, Anas was offered a “tempting” deal, one he firmly rejected. The offer was to stop his coverage from Gaza in exchange for leaving Gaza. Anas refused outright, choosing instead to continue reporting the truth until his final breath, a decision that ultimately cost him his life at the hands of the Israeli Occupation Forces who have killed hundreds of journalists in Gaza for the same reason. Funeral processions are being held for the five Al Jazeera journalists who were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City. Al Jazeera called it a "targeted assassination" and a blatant attack on press freedom. The Israeli military admitted to carrying out the strike, but claimed Anas al Sharif was the head of a Hamas terrorist cell, allegations that both he and the TV network have denied. 186 journalists have been confirmed killed in Gaza since October 2023.

The armed resistance in Gaza has shared a tribute to one of its youngest fighters who participated in the ambushing of and firing at Israeli soldiers: 2005-born Anas Al-Beik from northern Gaza. Despite his very young age, he was enlisted in the elite forces. He was also very top in his secondary school. The tribute includes Anas’ life moments of swimming and playing sports with his friends. The young invincible fighter fell in battle on May 24th, 2024.
