Just a quick Saturday Reminder: Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory are not attacks, nor are they escalation. Even “retaliation,” while still an acceptable term, does not accurately describe Kyiv’s actions. They are best described as defense, defensive actions, defensive measures, defensive operations, or deterrence. By contrast, Russia’s actions can only be described as attacks and aggression. None of its strikes can reasonably be characterized as “retaliation” against a nation exercising its right to defend itself from an unprovoked war of aggression.

Everyone knows how effective Patriot, IRIS-T, NASAMS, Hawk, and other modern air defense systems are. We need them here in Ukraine: in Kharkiv, Dnipro, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Donbas, and other cities suffering Russian attacks. Every leader, every state, every ambassador who helps us with air defense now is not only a defender of life, but also one who reduces Russia’s temptation to wage war. Russian strikes on Sumy don't stop. Russia launches new strikes when rescuers arrive at the strike sites. Russia has used this technique in Syria and now in Ukraine - to cause more damage.
