25 years ago today, Kurt Angle defeated Steve Austin to win the WWE Title at Unforgiven 2001 in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Angle wasn't originally scheduled to win the belt but he believed the United States needed a boost after the 9/11 attacks. "I called Vince. I came up with the idea about a week before this event. I told him, 'Listen, the country’s hurting. People need a boost, they need someone to believe in. I’m the Olympic hero, the American hero. I’m representing our country during this difficult time. I really think that you need to give me the title. Not for a long time, just to give the country a little booster shot of confidence and feeling good about who we are.' Vince told me to talk to Steve and if it was okay with Steve we could do it. I called Steve and he agreed immediately. He said, 'That’s a great idea. Let's do it,'" Angle said on his podcast in 2021. Nikki Glaser really said monogamy is a choice, but so is taking a sabbatical from your relationship. 💀 “If any couple’s being really honest, they would be on and off too… I want to be in a relationship that I can call off whenever I want and take a break.” According to Nikki, more couples would probably be on and off if they were completely honest about what they wanted.

Sandro Mamukelashvili on what his priorities are if he decides to become a free agent this summer: “I think a lot of people don’t know this, but last year, I got offered a lot of money to play for other teams.” “To me, the main priority is: I’m a basketball player, I’m a competitor, I want to win, and I want to be part of something.” “This summer will be the same thing, kind of understanding where I fit best, and what role I can play. Hopefully, it’s going to be here.” “I really want to be back. I love Toronto, I love the people, I love the organization, and coach Darko. I think he was a guy who gave me a chance to go out there and be myself.” “I really believe that there is so much more I can do and better I can get.” “I think the main thing is, understanding that I belong here, and I can be an NBA player, NBA rotational guy. I just want to keep it that way, and I want the best possible way to go out there and get better next year.”

Kristen Bell reveals Dax Shepard broke up with her, then called her back just four days later. “ He did break up with me very early on. I may have scared him a little because I wanted to spend all our time together. I was very excited, and he had just gotten out of a relationship and wanted more freedom. I don’t think he wanted everything I was presenting to him.” “ He sat me down and said, ‘I don’t think we’re in the same place. I really, really enjoy you.’ At that point, I was definitely in love with him. We were a month and a half in, and I was heartbroken. Even thinking about it breaks my heart.” “ He said, ‘I’m still casually dating other people.’ I definitely wasn’t. But he was very upfront. He said, ‘That’s not what you deserve, and I’m not going to give you anything half-assed.’ In a way, he was extremely responsible with my heart, even though he broke it.” “Then, four days later, he texted me: ‘I’m just joking. I can’t do this. I really would like to be with you again.’” “I went over to his house, but I was a little guarded. He had planned a trip to the Bahamas for New Year’s and said, ‘I should probably let them know if you’re going to come on the trip.’” “I said, ‘If you want to invite me on a trip, you can ask me like a lady.’” “I gave him some grief after that, and I think it set the tone for our relationship.” “My therapist had said, ‘Maybe make him earn you back just a little bit. Don’t play a game, but don’t go back like some happy, dumb puppy dog.’” “So he did. He said, ‘I would really like it if you would accompany me to the Bahamas for New Year’s. Would you like to come?’” “And I said, ‘Yes, I would love to.’”

Brock Lesnar botching the Shooting Star Press and landing on his neck was one of the scariest moments in wrestling history. 😨 Kurt Angle instinctively covered him. Angle was also dealing with a serious neck injury, so he didn't want to retain the title that way. He whispered, "Please kick out. Please don't get pinned. I don't want to keep the title." Brock kicked out, and despite being badly concussed, Angle guided him through the rest of the match until the planned finish.

Bannon: I think the first thing the President ought to do in this throwdown is call up Thune and say, "Hey, I want you guys to leave tomorrow and call a recess — a real recess. I want to make a couple of recess appointments, and if you don't give it to me, then I think I'm going to have to push for a new leader in the Senate."

Arman Tsarukyan reveals UFC is concerned he might leave after winning the title 🤣🏆 "They’re worried that I’m going to get the title and leave the UFC, but where am I going to leave if I become champion? I want to be the best in the UFC and stay with the company because they built me and made me a star. I want to be a champion and break records in our lightweight division and defend the title as much as possible. Islam did 4; I want to do 5 or 6. I’m not young anymore, I’m 29, so I maybe have 5–6 years. I’ve got to make a lot of money, be a champ, be the best fighter in the world, and then leave." Via: Full Send Podcast
