My journey to New York City to witness KDLex first ever Billboard in the city that never sleeps - New York City. I am so lucky to have a family that is so supported with my fangirling. Thank you so much @kdlexINTLswthrt family. Love na love ko kayo. This experience is one for the books for me. Our 2-day billboard was booked only for a day because our Pinas team booked it accidentally on the same day as the US and Australia team. But hey, I am willing to sleep in Times Square for 2 days, lol. I can’t take my eyes off kyle daiñel estrada and Alexa Ilacad ☾ on the billboard, even when I saw it multiple times. I ended up going home at 1 am kasi gusto ko siya panuorin over and over again. Thank you all sweethearts and solids for making it trend for 2 days. Ang lakas nyo. For the love of #KDLex gagawin lahat. #KDEstrada #Alexailacad

It’s the 25th Anniversary of Michael Jackson’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, the two night spectacle that began on September 7th and ended on this date in 2001, At Madison Square Garden just one day before tragedy struck New York City. I really wanted to post the concerts from each night in full but decided to share a few of my favorite performances starting with the tv version of “Billie Jean” in which CBS combined footage from both concerts, so this particular performance works in my favor.

Something I feel enormously fortunate to have covered directly was Kyle Busch's 100th career O'Reilly Series win at Nashville in 2021. There's also a story from the press conference I'd like to share. Nashville 2021 was the first "normal" race weekend after peak COVID, which meant the garage was open and media availabilities would take place in the media center instead of remotely over Zoom (including from the press box). It was my first race working as a reporter in the media center, and I was still getting my bearings as far as in-person press conferences and talking off the cuff as opposed to doing things over Zoom. Daniel McFadin asked Kyle about which of his 100 wins were his favorites, a question which I had also wanted to ask. Kyle started talking about them and also about some of the ones he missed out on - Namely his debut at Charlotte in '03, which gave him a chance to take a tongue-in-cheek dig at all the criticism he got for racing in the series as much as he did. "That would've been cool. Damn Kenseth. Those Cup guys, they shouldn't run Xfinity. I don't know why they do." Kyle then got asked about the origins of the bow and recalled it starting with a win at Charlotte, but he couldn't remember the year - at which point I interjected "4!", which got him rolling again but maybe was a bit bold of me to do as someone who was still very new. It was my turn to ask a question next so I asked him about some of the sponsorship partners from all of his wins in the series and if he had heard from any of them. Afterwards, Kyle walked by my workspace while I still had the Racing Reference page for Charlotte 2004 up, so I mentioned it to Kyle again and quickly summarized with something along the lines of this: "It says you beat McMurray, Harvick, and Stewart that day. They were all in the top five." To which Kyle showed a bit of the quick wit he had: "Damn Cup guys."

We, at the Rajasthan Association of North America (RANA), New York, were proud to participate in the celebration of the 79th Independence Day Parade in Manhattan, New York City ,the largest parade outside India, organized by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA – NY, NJ, CT, NE). This year marked the 43rd annual parade, and we were honored to represent our vibrant heritage. As part of the celebrations, RANA showcased Rajasthan’s world-renowned tourist destinations, including Umaid Bhawan Palace (UNESCO’s No. 1 heritage property), Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur, Jaipur’s iconic Hawa Mahal, and other treasures ,highlighting our initiative of celebrating 2025 as Rajasthan Tourism Year. We also proudly presented the work of Jaipur Foot USA’s parent organization, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) the world’s largest organization for the differently-abled (Divyang). A poster displayed on our float illustrated that, since its inception in 1975 by Padmabhushan D. R. Mehta Saab BMVSS has benefited over 2.4 million people and conducted 114 international camps ( that includes 33 international camps by Randhir Jaiswal with the best wishes of HPM Narendra Modi SIR ) in 44 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. This year’s parade was especially memorable, as August 6th was proclaimed “RANA Day” by the NYC administration. A special poster showcasing this proclamation and our gratitude was prominently displayed on RANA’s first float in the last 25 years since our inception. I extend my heartfelt thanks to FIA for the honor of being part of the Pooja Archana, coconut breaking ceremony, and for giving me the opportunity to pull the ropes of the Jagannath Chariot ( considered highly auspicious) with Binaya Pradhan and other distinguished guests. #NASCAR... Samantha Busch posted this two-minute tribute video this morning, honoring Kyle Busch on Father's Day with the following message: This still doesn't feel real at all. I was up all night thinking about what today should have looked like for Kyle and the kids. The Father’s Day cards that were already made sitting in a drawer with no one to give them to. Trying to figure out how to navigate a day that should be filled with so much joy for them. He was the dad who never missed a chance to be silly, race the kids around the neighborhood, wrap them in his arms, or stay up a little longer for one more book, one more question, one more moment. Nothing made him prouder than being Brexton and Lennix’s dad. Watching these memories hurts more than I can explain, but they also remind me how lucky we were to have him. Kyle, the kids, and I miss you every second of every day. Our hearts ache for you, but it’s more than that. Your absence is something we physically feel. Our bodies hurt from missing you, from reaching for someone who isn’t there, from loving someone we can’t hold anymore. I will keep telling your stories, sharing your laughs, and making sure Brexton and Lennix always know just how deeply they were loved by their dad. Happy Father’s Day. That day was the day Michael Jackson passed away — June 25th, 2009. So I heard Jeff Teague tell this story on his pod the other day because we were in the same draft class, but it was my dad’s birthday, it was the day Michael Jackson passed. In New York, it was just the idea of being in the city getting dressed like, I did the old, it was like the premature ‘Get Ready With Me’ situations. When I had on my fit with a little purple tie, nervous is all I get out. But one, I didn’t know how long the night was going to be. And so you’re there for 2 hours before David Stern, at the time the commissioner, before he even walked out. And so, there were a lot of fans in there, a lot of New York fans, which is pretty awesome. My favorite moment is how loud they booed when Golden State selected me at No. 7. They booed like crazy and I’m trying to have that moment, but I couldn’t get that distraction out of my head. It’s like, ‘Are they booing?’ I was like, ‘Oh, no, they really wanted me. I got it. That took me a second.’ In that moment, there’s just so many thoughts going on. But getting that call from Larry Riley, the GM at the time, Don Nelson, who was the coach at the time.
