How does that go down, statistically? Purdy throws it, Evans catches, Deebo scores it.. would that be considered a TD pass or TD run?

It was a great play call, and great to see Deebo hit the afterburner after the catch!

Hook and LATERAL. The receiver runs a hook and laterals to a teammate. There are no ladders involved.

Trent Williams on Kyle Shanahan being the best play caller in the NFL. He also added that all the route combos in Shanahan's play calls are "just Spanish" to him 😂 "I was just as surprised as you all were (on the hook-and-ladder TD)."

DEEBO: "It's crazy cause we walked through that play once this week... I showed the speed that people don't think I got." Deebo Samuel and Kyle Shanahan break down the crazy 80-yard hook-and-ladder TD to start the game. SHANAHAN: "I don't think it's that big of a trick play."

Richard Sherman on whether Kyle Shanahan would be on the hot seat if the 49ers miss the playoffs this season: “If Kyle Shanahan misses the playoffs this year, would he be on the hot seat? Absolutely not. He wouldn’t even be close. He’d be on an iceberg. He’d be on an absolute iceberg. And if he somehow was on the hot seat, there’d be 20 seats in the NFL getting hotter as his gets hotter.” Via: Richard Sherman Podcast
