The big inventions are behind us: from 2016 to 2021 we basically figured out every major primitive (high-throughput L1s, L2s, DeFi, AMMs, PMs, oracles). This is common in the history of technology. What's left is implementation, UX tuning, and optimization. Which feels different, because it is. It's a sign of a mature technology. And it's a necessary phase in any technology that actually wins. You have to go collaborate. That is the most important part of being successful in chips. People look at the tech, and the tech is the best in the world. But the real value is all in the service. TSMC's customer service is way better than I've seen at any company in any industry. If you say, we think you can improve your yield by making this change, they will go run an experiment on their own dime to see if they can get the higher yield. When we found we were right and it worked, they moved it over to the rest of the line. If I go to a steelworks plant and say I want you to change the composition of the steel, they'll say screw you. Not TSMC. It's why they're number one, and why they're going to win."

Ethereum is officially transitioning to a monopoly L2s are finished, $ETH monopolizes smart contract rails In my mental framework, $ETH is a value index of smart contracts. It has network effect (most wallets), economies of scale (60% stablecoins are tokenized on ethereum) and proprietary technology (100% uptime). It's early days to talk about value capture because no token has really pumped because of utility the past 10 years, it's mostly the social value that creates fomo which created the pumps. Ethereum is the symbol the OG crypto anarchist social value, and vitalik.eth and the Ethereum community keep pushing for that. This community can't be replaced with Solana or BNB's community, which is a real moat that Ethereum has. One can argue Bitcoin has similar or more hardcore anarchist community, yes, this is why $BTC is number one and $ETH is number two. But over time I believe Ethereum's upside is far better because smart contracts enable it to scale its community via use cases/Apps like stablecoin and DAOs. Despite Thomas (Tom) Lee (not drummer) FundstratDirect.com buying 5% of $ETH that OG ethos of Ethereum is not going to change to the "enterprise chain" ethos because of the $ETH community and vitalik.eth. $ETH $BMNR
