🚨ICE agents illegally threatened to tase a PASSENGER for refusing to exit a vehicle… after lying about having a warrant for him, in Lennox, California. In the video, the agents repeatedly insisted they had a warrant for the passenger, demanded he get out of the car, and threatened to tase him if he didn’t comply. But, when the passenger continued to ask to see the warrant, the agents suddenly asked for his ID. After running his identification, they decided to change the story… Agents then started asking the driver for their ID, despite admitting they did not know who they were dealing with. When questioned, one agent first claimed they had a warrant for the passenger, then admitted they were “writing it right now,” before finally acknowledging, “I thought it was you.” So, to break this all down… ICE agents threatened to tase someone over a warrant they didn’t have, for a person they hadn’t even identified. The Fourth Amendment exists for a reason. Government agents do not get to detain whoever they want, threaten force, demand identification from everyone present, and just figure out who they are dealing with later. Because that’s illegal. If ICE had a valid warrant, they should have been able to identify the subject of that warrant before threatening someone with a taser. And if they didn’t know who they were talking to… then what exactly was the legal basis for the detention, the threats, and the demands for identification? This is why people are outraged. And every time this behavior is excused, it sends the message that ICE agents can ignore constitutional rights, threaten innocent people, and walk away like nothing happened.

"If they were literally all to be pushed out the door, we would be talking about thousands of FBI agents. There's only 14,000 agents in the field, and we'd be talking close to 6,000 of them who worked such cases," retired FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi says.

Congress needs to stop this outrageous behavior by ICE Agents right now. Brian Nataren, 19, and his brother Brandon, 14, were stopped by ICE agents in Olathe, Kansas when they stopped for food. ICE agents confronted them over their truck, yanked Brian out, pointed a gun at his head, handcuffed him, knelt on his back, paid no attention to them saying they were citizens and took Brian away. They did say they would find who they were looking for the owner of the truck. Brian was released without charges. This is what happens when ICE agents aren't given proper training and a free pass by the Trump regime. Instead of pinning a young man to the ground, terrifying the two brothers, ICE should have checked the vehicle registration. In Trump's America, it is okay for ICE to abuse, harass, hurt, maim and kill people for no cause. #DemsUnited

In the video, the two young men, both under 21, are just filling up their car when ICE agents approach them and demand their IDs. The agent looks at the license, asks if they were born in the United States, and when they say yes, the agent responds, “I figured.” Then he gives the license back. These are U.S. citizens, standing at a gas station, doing absolutely nothing wrong, and federal immigration agents approached them and questioned them about their citizenship. The Fourth Amendment does not disappear because the people approaching you are ICE agents. If these young men were being detained, the agents needed reasonable suspicion, based on specific facts, to justify that detention. They cannot just stop people and demand IDs because they want to find out whether they belong in the country. So… WHY DID THE AGENTS APPROACH THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE? What exactly did these agents suspect these two U.S. citizens had done? Because “they looked like they might be immigrants” is not a constitutional justification for stopping someone. And if the answer is that there was no individualized reason to suspect these two people of an immigration violation, then what exactly are we watching? The government is supposed to be bound by the Constitution. Which means, American citizens should not have to prove they are American just because a federal agent decided they looked like they might not be.

Chicago alderperson: I went over to the hospital and I simply asked the ICE agents if they had a signed judicial warrant for the individual that they were trying to detain inside of the emergency room. No one was harassing the ICE agents. In fact, the only person harassed in that situation was me. I was handcuffed and shoved twice up against the wall for simply exercising my right to advocate for my constituents.
