Energy makes or breaks a country. I remember on my P’s late 90’s fuel was 60cents a litre, electricity was 10cent kWh and you could live off $200 week wage. Every room had 60 watt bulbs and no one struggled to pay the bill. Just 30yrs they lib,lab,nats,teal,grn have wiped us out. Every single industry they have dissolved.

Fuel excise indexation introduced by Hawke in '83, abolished by Howard in '01 & reintroduced by Abbott in '14. The Albanese Gov't did not "slip it in". Go ahead & halve it - no abolish it. Where will the money to maintain or upgrade roads come from?

Excise on fuel, booze and baccy goes up by inflation every six months. Complete bullshit because the price of those things is a factor in calculating inflation and they don't increase tax brackets with inflation.
