Last nights budget has revealed the Federal budget has serious structural spending issues that need to be addressed urgently. Labor has allowed deficits to occur out to 2035/36. Why should the Australian public take Labor seriously on economic management when it can’t even rein in deficits over a period of a decade? If Australia was a business that forecast losses for the next decade it would be declared bankrupt and receivers appointed. Why should the Australian public vote for a government that can’t stimulate an economy back into profit given Australia’s vast resources and economic potential! At the start of this term I had a meeting with the Treasurer Jim Chalmers, as I did with former Treasurer Frydenberg where I outlined a number of loopholes in the tax and monetary policy settings that favoured foreign investors. Yet Labor has done nothing to remove these loopholes that would help get the budget into surplus. That’s the worst thing about this budget. Labor doesn’t have the will power or the solutions that will set our children up for the future. #auspol

Mark Carney made Canadians promises. In the name of getting elected. Those promises have been broken. Our tariffs went up from 25% to 35%. Canada is still struggling to make a deal. The Russian government has made "difficult decisions" to raise taxes, as all public finance reserves that allowed the budget to be balanced have been exhausted, deputy finance minister Vladimir Kolychev said. Congratulations to Putin who cares for his own country so much. Over the past six years, budget expenditures have grown from 16.6% to 19.7% of GDP, partly due to defense spending. At the same time, federal budget revenues have declined from 18.4% to 17.1% of GDP. "In such conditions, all the reserves of the public finance system were activated And to a large extent, by this year, and even by last year, these public finance reserves had been exhausted," Kolychev said.
