"All you have to do is just drive him out! Don't let him get to that spot!" I yell at my TV from the couch, having just polished off a dozen wings.

Hold the pipe.

Slide

I have responses, but the bottom line is - if I could defend it, I wouldn’t have played d3 lacrosse for a mediocre-at-best program

Slide early, high and with bad intentions. 😉

My fifth grader asked me the same thing as it happened. I told him you don’t. It’s just not possible. UVa kid doesn’t do anything wrong at all. Sometimes you just get beat.

Imo only way to guard this is to not let the offensive player get to their spot at 5x5

think the only hope would be to be less concerned getting topside as a defender, guessing O'Neill is ?ing and hitting him going upfield. Obviously wayyy easier said than done given how good O'Neill has been.

Push him up field and slide to his face..stay on it if he tries to roll back!

That’s why you stay on the hip. As he turns, drive him out.
