The way some of y'all are writing think pieces about Lady gaga performing at the oscars for a 4th time and she's nominated tonight. She also won before. Some of your favs will never win an Oscar let alone perform or be nominated.

Extremely short notice change of mind..flew in from NY to La this morning to sing HMH..its like the Oscars version of The Voice cuz that was all about the vocals , the message and the feels. Not flashy looks and makeup. Pure Gaga. Loved it

I saw Lady Gaga in the Oscar's audience early on in the broadcast, she was all made up and looked beautiful. The fact that she took her makeup off to perform that song just goes to show you what a powerful & inspiring human being she is! She is a gift to this world! #LadyGaga

That was a surprise performance tonight since she wasn't scheduled to sing. It was raw and emotional and a searing, evocative and brilliant performance. Leaving out the fluff and the staging, melted the essence of the lyrics and the intensity of her vocals into pure poetry.
