Beautiful ride with the team to ABK. Stopped at the Gateway Landmark for pictures, linked up with fellow bikers, ate good Ofada rice and amala, and enjoyed every moment of the journey. One thing that stood out on this trip was the ongoing improvement on the Abeokuta–Lagos road by @craneburgconstruction You can already see smoother sections and active rehabilitation work making the ride better and more comfortable. Infrastructure like this makes movement easier and road trips more enjoyable. Passed by the massive Lafarge Cement Factory on our way back and just soaked in the scenery all through the ride. Good roads, good people, good ride. 🇳🇬 Ogun State is open for investment. #ogunstate #abeokuta #lagos #infrastructure

Today, I met with the Acting Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Ganiu Obasa in company of other heads of agencies, permanent secretaries and directors, to strengthen collaboration between the State and Local Governments on environmental sustainability and waste management. Our discussion focused on how to move from a linear waste system, where we simply pick and drop, to a circular system where waste becomes a resource. This is the future we are building for Lagos. We agreed that real progress in achieving a cleaner, flood-free, and sustainable Lagos must begin at the grassroots. The Local Governments and LCDAs play a critical role in ensuring that every household, market, and street supports the State’s vision for a cleaner environment. As part of our action points: Environmental Health Officers will work directly with LAWMA to strengthen enforcement and ensure prompt waste collection. LASPARK will support identified areas in Agege with greenery and beautification. Drainage engineers attached to the LGA will provide technical support on flooding and channel maintenance. This partnership is a reminder that sustainability is a shared responsibility. Together, we can build the cleaner, safer, and more resilient Lagos we all deserve. #CleanerLagos #GreaterLagos

This is Obi Jackson's Nestoil headquarters in Victoria Island Lagos. It had been sealed since October 2025. It was sealed at first with signages and tapes, some time early this year I started seeing Police vehicles in front of the place. I want to ask how wise it is to shutdown a blue chip company because of debt ? When we can just put a system in place that ensures activities are on and payment is made through a financial medium the company cannot hinder ? Nigeria is not ready to build, all they do is destroy. Owing is not a crime, lack of institutions that can recover debt without shutting down businesses is the crime against our Labour Market.

Nigeria has the power to attract investment effortlessly. We don’t even need to do too much, we just need to get the basics right. Eko Atlantic City has been thoroughly embraced by the international community, and it’s beautiful to see. I urge all developers, especially in Lagos, to maintain these high standards when constructing new estates. Estate layouts should be world-class, with excellent landscaping, and developers should partner with the government to ensure quality. This is the only way we can continue to make Nigeria a reference point for investment and urban living in Africa and beyond. Nigeria is a country that is deeply loved, but I don’t think many Nigerians fully understand its potential. To the developers: please partner with the government, make sure all your documents are in order, and build estates with proper layouts and drainage systems so that water flows smoothly even during heavy rain. Ensure that buyers get value for their money, and that landscapes are designed with luxurious attention to detail. Omo, Ikorodu people are seriously suffering o. A bridge from Ikorodu to the Island would reduce the journey to about 30 minutes max. The proposed bridge costs about $2.5 billion, though, and the President has been pushing for this bridge, as well as the VGC Bridge. I don't know why it still hasn't been done. The government can try building a cheaper version of the bridge. It doesn't have to include all these expensive features. The important thing is to help Ikorodu residents avoid the long daily commute. However, no matter the version they choose to build, they should retain the fishwave design sha 😅. We need more iconic bridges in Lagos because they eventually become landmarks, just like the Ikoyi Cable-Stayed Bridge. Honestly, Dr. Hamzat is goated. He came up with this design alongside Engr. Mide Adeyoye, just as he did with the Ikoyi Bridge. That's why I keep saying he must not sleep on his own portfolio. The world needs to know how brilliant and experienced he is in road and infrastructure development. A deputy governor aspiring to become governor cannot remain in a ceremonial position. You need to show yourself more. But then again, this bridge would make developers rush to Ikorodu. They have plenty of land there, and it would become another major real estate corridor. I am delighted to announce that the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has taken delivery of 10 brand new waste compactor trucks generously donated by the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority in a ceremony that demonstrates the power of inter-ministerial collaboration and corporate social responsibility. This donation comes at a crucial time when we are scaling up our waste management operations to match the reality of a megacity that generates over 13,000 tonnes of waste daily. Let me be clear: we have moved decisively beyond the outdated collect-and-dump model into a sustainable zero-waste economy where waste is viewed as a valuable resource. We have signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding with local and international partners that will divert close to 5,000 metric tonnes from the daily waste stream through recycling, reuse, and resource recovery. These 10 new compactors will be strategically deployed to critical locations experiencing high waste generation and to communities that need enhanced evacuation services. They will improve our turnaround time, support the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, and help us sustain the cleaner Lagos we are building. I commend the Chief Executive Officer of the Lottery and Gaming Authority, Mr Bashir Abiola Are, for this commendable gesture that aligns perfectly with the vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat for a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos. Even the road you see is expected to be transformed into a 10-lane superhighway, which the governor has already hinted at. That is why some areas, including sections occupied by traders, are being cleared. The Blue Line runs from Marina to Okokomaiko. The first phase is already operational, while work on the second phase is ongoing. The extension will serve stations at Mile 2, Festac, Alakija, Volkswagen, Alaba International Market, Trade Fair, LASU and Okokomaiko. These stations will serve traders, 9-to-5 workers, small businesses, visitors and residents along the corridor. The line covers LG areas including Amuwo-Odofin, Ojo, Oriade and Orile Iganmu, among others. Many people living along this corridor commute daily to work on the Island, while others depend on the major markets along the route. I really commend the government for this multi-billion-dollar investment in rail transportation. However, rail does not replace road infrastructure. The next administration must make road rehabilitation a major priority. In the first four years, there should be a determined effort to get Lagos roads into best conditions. Why? Because many rail users are 9-to-5 workers, small business owners and visitors, but major investors, CEOs and top executives will still drive. When you bring investors into a city, the roads, environment, landscaping, greenery, public spaces and overall appearance all matter. The Green Line is another example. Its Phase 1A will have about eight stations, with flyovers and pedestrian infrastructure helping to separate road traffic and pedestrian movement from the rail corridor totally 8 U shaped Flyovers and Pedestrian sky walks. The more quality road infrastructure we have, the better the quality of life in Lagos. This is very commendable. This road was one of the reasons I felt really bad about Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu. It is such a critical corridor, yet it was left in a deplorable state for so long. That was one of my major disappointments with his administration. No matter what happened,even with the #EndSARS protests or any other crisis,the government should not have allowed such an important road to deteriorate to that extent. That said, I am happy today that the road is finally being rehabilitated, even though it took about five years. This is exactly what Nigerians want: a good, clean, and well-maintained environment. Nigerians don’t need too much. We are actually very easy to impress. You don’t have to overdo things,just do the basics well, and the average Nigerian will sing your praises to the high heavens. This level of infrastructure maintenance used to be the standard of the APC in Lagos before Governor Jide’s administration. In my opinion, this has been the laziest government Lagos has had. This is not meant to throw shade; it is simply my personal opinion. However, I must commend the administration for being responsive. When they are criticized, they tend to act quickly to fix issues, and that is a good thing. Still, much more is needed. This road must be rehabilitated to the highest possible standard. It should be beautiful and visually pleasing. It is a critical transport corridor, an industrial corridor, and a major transportation route. In fact, it is almost the lifeline of Lagos. It is also a tourist corridor, as about 90% of tourists who come to Lagos pass through this route to reach different destinations. I want to place special emphasis on Ikate. Kunsela Road should be completely demolished and rebuilt with proper drainage systems on both sides, so that rainwater can flow freely. The same applies to the area around Iyare Motors. That section of the road also needs urgent attention. It should be demolished and reconstructed properly to allow effective water flow. Honestly, I would advise this administration to suspend every other thing and focus on environmental management. Lagos already has everything it needs,from its people to its businesses. Every Lagosian is a hustler. They don’t need much; just give them an enabling environment and watch them take this city to the world and back. Lagosians are among the most inspiring Nigerians on earth. That is not news; it is a fact. The government should simply ensure that the environment is clean, roads are in good condition, and transportation works efficiently. Lagos does not need to beg for investors or engage in unnecessary publicity. By maintaining a clean environment and good infrastructure, Lagos will attract many times more investment than it already does. So, kudos to Governor Jide on this effort. I wish him the very best. As I have said before, I will be the first person to publicly acknowledge and post his achievements, as long as he genuinely tackles environmental issues. UBA Bank is trending because the six-storey Afriland building housing a UBA branch on Broad Street Lagos Island erupted in flames this afternoon, staffs had to jump 3-floors to escape the fire, some collapsed. Apparently, it started from the inverter room at the basement of the building. And found its way up. Before Lagos Fire Service arrived, area boys already began the rescue operation through windows with ladders. An unnamed Hausa guy was the hero of the day. (The guy wearing white). His courage to climb the height motivated others to help. He also helped carry down about 5 ladies with acrophobia. After the successful evacuations, everyone started hailing him. Until the fire service arrived to put out the fire. Rumors suggest some people were stuck in the elevator, but later rescued. Contrary to some blog reports, the fire wasn’t at UBA HQ. It was at a branch. As of now, no casualty has been reported. Other injuries were reported, although minor. However, Nigerians are lamenting, wondering how a building like that doesn’t have provisions for emergency exits.
