"[the landlord leaves the worker] with the smallest share with which the tenant can content himself without being a loser, and the landlord seldom means to leave him any more." -Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations

Landlords are workers who saved their money and bought homes. I know multiple immigrants who came to this country with nothing and sacrificed a lot to invest in real estate to build generational wealth. This type of thinking gives jobless bums an excuse to just squat on someone’s property. And that’s disastrous for society. Solution? There needs to be less regulations so people buy cheaply made houses according to their income. Too much regulations makes the barrier to entry steep for poor people. In the aria I live in the zoning laws and other regulations makes it virtually impossible to build a cheap home even if you buy land.

Honest question. Do you consider all landlords equally bad? Example, if someone paid off one of their homes and is charging below market rate for a tenant while also providing all needed repairs, is that 1:1 to the typical landlord?

I don't know how it works in the US but in Denmark landlords are responsible for making sure electricity, heating etc. works. And carry the cost of having stuff fixed if it's broken.

I was a (working) Landlord, I had mortgages on 2 small properties, I am NOT rich and I don't even own my own home I struggle from month to month like everyone else. I used it to try and claw my way out of a hand to mouth lifestyle.

Landlords absorb risk. Landlords can lose money. All landlords are immoral? What about landlords for commercial spaces? What about landlords who provide housing to people that move frequently?
