Yeah, this fight was more like a comedy. Lanfear, who can make heads explode with a flick of a finger, was also struggling against Lan for some reason? The show sacrifices all logic for just a 'cool visual'

truly pathetic, which is kinda sad bc i was looking foward to that battle but it just didn't make any sense

if they wanted this moment to be a little more believable it would’ve made more sense if lanfear turned her back thinking moiraine was dead and then given us a few seconds thinking “is she?” then she finds the strength to do what she did and catch lanfear by surprise from behind

i undoubtedly wanted moiraine to win this fight but i wish it was longer and not so underwhelming

same it's not like i wanted her to die but it was just devoid of logic and it felt pointless

This was such a weak scene for me too. I laughed so hard at Lanfear in this scene. It felt so amateur fr 😭

This was one of the more extreme continuity issues in this episode. They did a great job establishing Lanfear as this dangerous cutthroat singular force in S2 and made a concerted effort to make sure she doesn’t have to fight anyone this season to preserve that image. Then we got this battle, which played out in a way that made everyone involved look bad. Lanfear looked weak. Moiraine looked inexperienced. Lan getting swatted aside was more understandable but the framing also made him look even weaker than he needed to look.

Lan sword is made from the one power. Lanfear has been the apex predator, she didn't believe Moiraine could make that come back, it's a simple case of underestimating someone, she was surprised not that she was just standing there maybe the scene didn't communicate it well

I was really disappointed in that scene. Azula or any sane character would never! They nerfed her so bad. Pissed me off so bad. 😹

O livro é de fato superior a série… mas ali, acredito que queriam mostrar uma Lanfear surpresa pela reação da Moiraine

IMO, I think beyond Lanfear’s immense power was also her weakness - the strength in betrayed loved. Her realization that Moraine actually pulled out the sword of Malkier which is deadly and gathered the strength to fight back even in her grief stunned her a bit.

It’s so weird that I completely agree with you and still loved the scene.
