Bronx: West 165th Street & University Avenue, a man in the Bronx seemingly got himself arrested after refusing to provide officers with his ID after obstructing a roadway. Officers from the NYPD 44th Precinct were conducting targeted enforcement near the Highbridge Garden Houses when they found the man stopped in the middle of a roadway running through the housing complex, obstructing traffic. Officers requested his ID, but he refused multiple times. Had he simply provided his ID, they possibly would have let him go if everything came back clear. At worst, he could have received a summons. Instead, his repeated refusal to cooperate ultimately led to his arrest.
