I awarded the Order of the Golden Star to Heroes of Ukraine Andrii Biletskyi and Eduard Kolodii and presented other state awards to warriors taking part in the Oleksandrivska operation. Thank you for defending our state in the most difficult sectors, everywhere Ukrainian roots run deep. The enemy always wants to cross out everything Ukrainian, because our history is longer than any Russian aggression and any history in Moscow. And this is something we must fight for. I am grateful to our warriors for their service and for the strength that enables us to preserve our independence.

I presented state awards on the occasion of Ukraine’s Constitution Day to Ukrainian men and women who work for our state. First and foremost, to our military: I personally presented the Orders of the Golden Star to the Heroes of Ukraine, and also handed awards to the families of the fallen who, tragically, were awarded this title posthumously. I also presented awards to Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko; the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius; our multi-time champion Liudmyla Luzan; war correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko; and the first responders and a police officer who saved the Dormition Cathedral after the Russian strike. I thank everyone who, through their work, words, faith, and actions, supports Ukraine and our people. Everyone who, in their place, helps build a free and strong state. A state that is fighting today for its freedom and independence. And it will certainly preserve them.

Today, together with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, we are working on the front line in the Oleksandrivskyi sector. We met with the warriors of the 80th Halytska Separate Air Assault Brigade. And above all, we are here to express gratitude to the warriors thanks to whom Ukraine is able to mark the 35th anniversary of the restoration of its independence these days. Russia began its full-scale war after the 30th anniversary, but for more than four years now, Ukrainian warriors have been fighting with pride and resilience to preserve our state. This is the main reason Ukraine exists and lives. I presented state awards to the warriors. Thank you for your service! We also discussed with the commanders today how to strengthen our defense. There are specific requests: drone supplies, the need for long-range artillery and small radars, direct funding for brigades, AWOL issues, as well as the training and motivation of our warriors. We will work through all of this. We need to strengthen our defenders as much as possible.

Avdiivka. I visited the positions of the 110th «Marko Bezruchko» Mechanized Brigade. One of the toughest spots of the frontline. I personally thanked the warriors. We reviewed the defense situation and our troops’ key needs with the commander. I honored the best servicemen with state decorations and presented Junior Sergeant Ihor Tymoshchuk with the Gold Star of the Hero of Ukraine. I thanked everyone on the frontlines for their service this year. Our whole country withstood it thanks to such warriors. All those who, against all odds, defend our country. Those who deliver combat results every day.

Today marks 32 years of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha,” and I am grateful to you for strengthening the Center, the Security Service of Ukraine, and our entire state every year. I presented state awards to the warriors of the SSU’s Center of Special Operations “Alpha” and handed over an award to the family of a fallen Hero who was honored with this title posthumously. Over the years of our full-scale defense, the Security Service of Ukraine has become one of the world’s strongest security services: a truly combat-capable service. And a major part of this achievement is the result of Alpha’s work. I thank every Alpha warrior for your service! I thank everyone who supports you and helps you. I thank your families for raising such outstanding Ukrainian warriors! And we must always remember each and every one of them: all Ukrainian defenders who gave their lives in this war, defending our independence, so that Ukraine could live.
