@MPSFirearms Those roles are always incredible to shadow, the level of knowledge, speed of thought and very complex considerations that need to be considered for every deployment.. One of many areas of Policing that most never get to hear about.. Professionals at work..

Firearms policing serves as a good model in terms of regular structured training and CPD for officers. This needs to be replicated across other depts like response if policing is to achieve the sort of 'professionalisation' desired by the College.

This is a fantastic point and one that needs to be seriously looked at, policing must be better at developing its people 👍

@JJSharpers @MPSFirearms Interesting. A colleague and I received an Assistant Commissioner’s Commendation in January, for writing and running the Met ARV courses. 30 odd years ago. Lucky we were still around to receive it. 😎
