Last night the House passed the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act (H.R. 9497) with my Arkansas Valley Conduit legislation in it. After 60 years, 50,000 Coloradans in 39 communities are one step closer to winning that fight and getting the clean water they were promised.

This landmark legislation includes my Helping More Families Save Act which will expand participation in the Department of Housing and Urban Development Family Self Sufficiency Program. Proud to see this bill to help move families off of government assistance and toward economic independence head to the House and then the President’s desk.

My bill to transfer a vacant US USDA Forest Service building to Perry County passed the House today with overwhelming bipartisan support. It’s honestly ridiculous that it takes an act of Congress to transfer a long-vacant federal building, especially when the county is ready to take possession. Nonetheless, we’re one step closer to saving taxpayer dollars and putting this property to work for Perryville and the surrounding communities. If the valley really needs access to the water coming from the hills, then we need to have a water-sharing agreement. If they can stop the electricity, we can stop the water by doing whatever is required. It is easy to stop the water in the mountains and disrupt the water supply. That can be done by the people. This should immediately come up as the next proposal by tomorrow..
