Pips is everywhere. Our young giraffe at our Kaluku Neonate Unit in Tsavo can usually be found in the middle of whatever's happening – watching over the smaller orphans, working her way through the browse, keeping a long-necked eye on the daily comings and goings. We rescued her in September last year, after her mother was likely killed by lions. She had narrowly escaped the same fate, and by the time we reached her she was running on her last reserves. Her Keepers call her Pipsi. Adopting Pips helps fund her browse, her Keepers, and the years of care ahead. Adopt Pips:

This footage was recorded at 11:22 PM last Tuesday at Harborlight Animal Rescue in Savannah, Georgia. The dog is a two-year-old cream pit bull mix named Pip. Pip arrived at Harborlight four days ago. She was found alone in an abandoned property. She had no microchip, no collar, and no information about her past. The staff noticed that Pip wouldn't eat if anyone looked at her. The body of a 28-year-old journalist was found in a septic tank on the premises of a contractor whom he had recently exposed for corruption in #Chhattisgarh. #MukeshChandrakar, who worked with a local news channel, was found dead on January 3 in #Bijapur district. Mukesh, who had been missing since the night of January 1, recently conducted an investigation against contractor #SureshChandrakar, exposing alleged irregularities in a Rs 120-crore road construction project in #Bastar. The expose had prompted the government to initiate an enquiry into the contractor's activities. Mukesh's elder brother, #YukeshChandrakar, filed a missing person report after his phone remained switched off following a meeting arranged by Suresh Chandrakar's brother, Ritesh, at one of the contractor's properties. On January 3, Mukesh's body was discovered inside the water tank on the premises of Suresh's property in Chattanpara, where he was last seen. "The victim's brother informed us that Mukesh had been missing since January 1. We initiated action, scanned CCTV footage and also found his last location. We found Mukesh's dead body inside a tank in the evening today," a senior police official said. The police acted swiftly, arresting Suresh Chandrakar from #Hyderabad and Ritesh from #Delhi, sources said. One labourer who helped in getting rid of the body has also been arrested. Several suspects, including those from the contractor's circle, are being questioned, police said.

Many have asked why I have been so silent these past weeks. I'm heartbroken to say my beautiful, darling wife passed away on Thursday. She had held my heart in her hand from the first moment I saw her and we shared 36 wonderful years together. She had bravely battled cancer with courage and fortitude for many years yet still never lost the ability to light up a room with her beautiful smile, her wonderful sense of humour and her laughter. Not once did she give up the hope for life. I truely believe there is more to this existence than we know and that one day we shall be reunited by our love for each other, a love that was so honest and so real and so true. Until then I shall hold her tightly in my heart. When my daughter and I returned home from the hospital a red rose had appeared in our garden. It was right outside our door and had appeared from nowhere in a clump of dry weeds. Red roses were my wife’s favorite flower. She wore 3 in her hair at our wedding and carried a bouquet of red roses. I had asked her to send me a sign before she passed to say she was ok. It must have been sent by her. You will stay forever in my heart until we are together again my darling ❤️
