Last year we spent $1.2 trillion just on interest. It was the second largest expense in the federal budget. For every $1 we take in, we’re spending $1.43. Anyone calling this sustainable either can’t do math or doesn’t care about your kids.

Great news: just tax the rich at 35% on everything above 10 million profit and 75% on anything above 1 Billion and suddenly we can pay off the debt, cover Universal Health Care, properly pay teachers and repair our infrastructure

End the income tax. You folks have shown you can't cut spending while you have revenue. So stop the revenue. Your spending isn't our problem, your forcing us to fund your spending is.

Then fix it. Republicans aren’t lowering our deficit, they cut things and just spend more on things they like. Same with Democrats. We need a reckoning that isn’t chaos.

Yeah, and $1.02 of the $1.43 is fraud or ridiculous BS no one in their right mind would ever give their money to. But Congress does because they are the most corrupt criminal mob organization on the planet, laundering trillions of dollars every year of someone else's money.

We have rogue Politicians that can't stop spending. They need to have the wallet shut off.

Any CEO would be fired immediately if their proposed annual budget exceeded expected annual revenue.

And yet you keep pushing to cut taxes that could help pay for this interest.

True, but Republicans spend every bit as much as Democrats. Sad for our kids and grandkids.

Debt per family of 4 approaching half a million dollars. The younger generations will be footing this bill. It will crush their country at some point.

You’ve been in office for 15 YEARS, and did NOTHING about this except vote for trillion dollar handouts and sending billions of tax dollars to foreign countries.

David, thanks for your tireless efforts to educate Americans on the fraud, money laundering and embezzlement that is US Federal government spending.

We hear a lot about the national debt and the massive amount of interest paid on that debt annually. But you never hear about who owns that debt and who the massive amount of interest is paid to.

Thank Trump. He alone added 1/3 of our entire national debt and continues to focus on running it up.

Dear Congressman, Is the tariff money being used to pay down the debt?

But you yourself intended to vote for Trump’s Bill and tax cuts that further increased the debt. Did you think that people would forget that when you brought out your Ross Perot charts and claim to care?

I’m not sure if you know this or not, but you’re in Congress. You, and only you, are responsible for spending.

Meanwhile you won’t stand up to Trump and say no. ICE funding is at insane levels. $70 million in cash for a warehouse in Surprise. Bigger budget than most militaries around the world.

You’ve been in congress since 2011. You are part of the problem or so ignorant that you just realized this. Which is it?

Rep. Schweikert voted for the BBB which provided for the ability for the Federal Government to raise the debt ceiling by $4t and increased the ICE budget from $7b to over $80b, among other items. Suddenly, he's concerned about debt interest?

So let's bomb Iran. Invade Venezuela. Buy Greenland. Build a ballroom. Redo the Kennedy Center. Spend a half a billion on ICE. Claim fraud but still fund the programs. Constantly fund other countries problems. Give the rich tax breaks. Tease removing federal taxes. Handouts

@grok - did Schweikert vote in favor of the current spending bill that ended the last shutdown?
