Wait what happened to "not pitching sports against each other" like we're told when we point out all the gambling tax goes to horses and greyhounds?

He is bench marking soccer against swimming and athletics. Sports with far far less participation and regular public engagement than soccer. Why didn't he cite greyhound racing, horse racing or gaa funding. These guys need to be held to account at the ballot box for this rubbish

That’s absolutely shocking coming from a minister of sport.. well.. that’s that then.. and you have Kosovo investing 200 million into their grassroots football.. we’re so far behind.

Significantly more than dog racing and horse racing ? 🤔Proped up by billions of gambling money..... only designed for gambling with a clean welfare history. Sport for the rich subsidised by the taxpayer. This is not the premier league in England awash with money minister. We don't have sky money here. Our National Broadcaster, like a child, has to be forced into showing a game or 2. Invest in the youth of this country, your be the 1st to turn up for the Euros, Champions League, and World Cup trips. The country needs more facilities, more full-time programmes and more help at grassroots. Just say it's not your sport, and we can all move on.

What an absolute gobshite @ThomasByrneTD compares to other sports, but no comparison to other countries. We're one of the lowest spending countries in the EU on sports, sort that out ya prick, no doubt he'll try weasel his way into Tallaght for the group games

Not sure there's a bigger gobshite in a ministerial position than this fella. Football has no hope of getting anything from the government with another ff/fg one. Comparing football funding to swimming unbelievable 🤣

Brexit is an opportunity to develop full time academies and a coaching industry for football in Ireland. The biggest participation sport in the country and badly needs investment in not only national leagues but grassroot facilities nationwide, municipal indoor multi sport arenas
