Riga City Council member Aleksey Roslikov denied entry to Estonia The controversial Latvian politician said he was detained by police while traveling to Estonia. Roslikov posted a video from the Latvian-Estonian border, saying he was on his way “to meet with colleagues” when officers stopped him and took him to the Migration Department. According to him, he was informed of an active entry ban. Earlier, Roslikov faced criminal cases in Latvia for inciting hatred and aiding Russia as an aggressor state. The charges stemmed from his 2025 speech in the Saeima, where he declared in Russian: “There are more of us.” The State Language Center accused him of disrespecting the Latvian language. Latvia’s State Security Service has repeatedly criticized Roslikov for his rhetoric about “pressure on the Russian-speaking minority.”

I met with the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkēvičs. Security cooperation was our main focus. We count on signing an agreement with Latvia in the Drone Deal format to build a multi-layered air defense system against different types of threats. I proposed this cooperation to the President. We will send our experts to Latvia to exchange experience and provide direct assistance in protecting the airspace. It is important to work together to strengthen Europe’s defense. We also discussed the overall security situation in the region. The initial cause of all challenges and threats is Russia and its aggression. I am grateful that we share a common position on this. Special attention was given to diplomatic work and Ukraine’s European integration. It is important to open all negotiation clusters as soon as possible, and there are now favorable conditions for this. Latvia consistently supports us in this regard, and I am grateful for it.

🟪 MOSCOW IS FORCING RUSSIA TO MAKE A CHOICE 👀 A Pantsir air defense system fitted with an anti-drone “grill” has reportedly been spotted in Moscow, fueling speculation that Russia is continuing to redeploy air defense assets away from other areas in order to protect the capital. If true, the implications are significant. Air defense systems are not unlimited. Every Pantsir moved to Moscow is a Pantsir that cannot protect a logistics hub, ammunition depot, airfield, refinery, command center, or military formation elsewhere. This highlights one of the most important effects of Ukraine’s long-range drone campaign. Ukraine is no longer simply destroying targets. It is forcing Russia to make difficult choices. For years, Russian air defenses were concentrated around military facilities and the front. Now Moscow itself increasingly requires protection as Ukrainian drones reach deeper into Russian territory with growing frequency. The result is a dilemma for the Kremlin. Protect the front lines and logistics networks. Or protect Moscow. Protect refineries and military infrastructure. Or protect the political heart of Russia. The appearance of additional air defenses around the capital may suggest that Moscow is becoming a higher priority, and that alone represents a strategic success for Ukraine’s long-range strike campaign. Russia still possesses significant air defense capabilities, but even the largest arsenal has limits. The more territory Ukraine can threaten, the more Russia is forced to spread those defenses thin.
