Launching glider with a winch

If you get a chance to take a glider ride, do it. The level of landing precision is very impressive. You could put a 6 inch square on the field, and I could touch down it every time. We had divots in the grass where everyone was aiming for. They made us stop.

I did that once back in the day at the Black Forest Glider Club. If you have a chance to ever do that or even go for a Glider ride, definitely a lot of fun.

Now this is cool. I always thought they needed to be towed in the air first.

What a view

I never had the experience of launching from a winch. The angle of attack is extremely aggressive.

I was a Canadian Air Cadets, and this is how we were launching a glider, me as a passenger. Just used the airplane launch once in a summer camp.
