@_lagrangepoint Love that you're flying students in from all over India, not just the usual metros. Some of the most hands-on builders come from tier 2 and 3 towns and just never get access to equipment like this. Will applications be open to students who don't have a big project yet?

Residents will have noticed Junction 28 of the M25 with the A12 is getting a major overhaul. The last gov funded the National Highways works to stop local traffic jams, reduce accidents at this major black spot and keep road freight moving to and from our ports to serve our shops, homes and businesses. I went to see progress a couple of weeks ago and it's such an impressive engineering project - much bigger than what you can see from the A12. They're also working with local charities like Harold Hill Deer Aid to minimise impact on local wildlife and digging waterways to reduce flood risk in other parts of Havering. All due to be completed in summer 2025 to improve your journeys. Thanks to all the engineers and construction workers working on the project.

HackerFab IIT Bombay is a first-of-its-kind student-run semiconductor fab in India, built by a group of students trying to make chip fabrication more accessible and hands-on. We went to IIT Bombay to see how they’re doing it with low-cost tools, and what semiconductor fabrication actually looks like up close. Huge thanks to Aryamman Bhatia and Abhineet Avhad for taking us through the process! Video out now on This Is Business 🇮🇳

#Cabinet approves the ₹1.275 lakh crore Semicon 2.0 programme ▪️Given the growing global interest in India's semiconductor programme, every major industry leader wants to establish a presence in the country. India has already forged partnerships with the US, Japan, the EU, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Germany ▪️In #Semicon 1.0, our focus was on starting and establishing the industry. Under Semicon 2.0, the chips required for all our strategic needs will be designed in India, and by the end of this semiconductor programme, we will become 100% self-reliant - Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw #CabinetDecisions

🚨 GOOGLE DATA SHOWS ONLY ONE PLACE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD SEARCHED “NANCY GUTHRIE ADDRESS” BEFORE SHE WAS ABDUCTED Before January 31, search interest for her exact address spiked 100%. It didn’t come from Tucson. It didn’t come from Mexico. It didn’t even come from her home state. It came from Grand Junction, Colorado. Days later, a ransom letter claimed she would be returned to Tucson “within 12 hours.” Grand Junction to Tucson is roughly 10.5 hours by car. Add fuel stops and short breaks, and the timeline lands almost exactly at 12 hours. That’s a calculated drive time, not a random number. Grand Junction also sits at a major highway junction, Interstate 70, US 6, and US 50 all intersect there, making it one of the most connected transport hubs in the region. So here’s what we’re looking at: • A pre-abduction search spike from one city. • A ransom timeline that matches that route. • A highway network built for fast exits in multiple directions. Who do you think is in Grand Junction, Colorado?

#WATCH | Bengaluru: Showcasing the silicon wafer, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw says, "This is the wafer in which each die has about 20 to 30 billion transistors... One die is one of those squares you see... This transistor density is used to design the silicon. This is essentially a single chip with a GPU and a CPU. The end product that comes out of this is this kind of module, which becomes an AI computer on the desktop of any person, on the edge, meaning within a camera, within a Wi-Fi router, or within a device on any machine, or any moving car, automobile, train, or aeroplane... That kind of development is underway and reinforced by the talent pipeline we are creating as part of Semicon mission 1.0... We set a target of 85,000 semiconductor-trained people over a period of 10 years. I'm happy to share that, over 4 years, we have trained 67,000 semiconductor engineers. This is now available at 315 universities and colleges, where all semiconductor design-related EDA tools are available. The students are designing chips... The final product is being validated, and it's a strong capability because few universities and countries worldwide have this kind of model." He adds, "Recently, at Davos, when I shared this model with semiconductor industry leaders, they were very happy about it and believe that the 1 million talent gap in the semiconductor industry will largely be filled by talent from India... In the recent budget, the entire IT services industry has undergone various simplifications. Whether it is getting the APS done or getting the safe harbour clause properly defined, all those things are in place. Today, the industry aims to enter India in a big way. Whatever progress we have seen in the last few years will accelerate with the announced reforms..."

It is a significant milestone that today we are able to demonstrate our capabilities in terms of high-performance chip design in the RISC-V domain. Addressed the national roadshow on Digital India RISC-V Vega Processors and shared that PM Narendra Modi ji’s govt is all in and completely backs the RISC-V architecture in terms of developing chips, devices, etc for the Indian ecosystem and for the world. This roadshow showcases our ambitions to become one of the world’s leading nations in creating innovation around the RISC-V ISA and the DIR-V family of chips and systems. The program will be fueled by the creativity and innovation of our engineers and startups. #RISV #DiRV #NewIndia #IndiaTechade
