Anyone install a check-valve in the washer hose to prevent dirty water from flowing back into the washer after the pump shuts off? This is 90% of why washing machines smell.

Looks like it'll work well, as long as the pipe is vented. Ideally a waste line goes into a sanitary Tee to prevent a vacuum from forming as the water drains.

Because modern machines have larger pipes than old houses, especially in Europe and cities where there are no laundry hookups in the apartments or houses. Like how in the past 20 years I’ve lived a total of 2.5 years with a washer or dishwasher in unit.
