LAUSD has a been an immigrant day care for the past 30 years. Less than half graduate, those that do are primarily illiterate, and they have high school day cares for the children of the students. Many that left are self deporting. Plus, the economy of LA makes it impossible to have children unless you are very wealthy.

BLM Brandon is correct that he reduced class sizes. With schools like Douglass Academy having a capacity of 912 students but only an enrollment of 35 that really reduces class size. Nevermind the per pupil spend is more than $68,000/yr. As to that "living wage" for teachers, Chicago's are the highest paid in the nation (adjusted for cost of living) but, hey, they're mostly women so they and their salaries are beyond reproach.

The political divide is reflected even in birth rates. Fifteen years ago, liberal and conservative women between the ages of 18 and 35 were having children at roughly the same rate. came to satya niketan on ground to cover the PG building collapse, and while rescue operations are still underway, i saw an AISA student union protest happening here. i genuinely have one question: at a time when students and families are waiting for updates, what is the relevance of bringing politics into this? in front of me, multiple ambulances have gone in, including a blinkit ambulance and rescue teams are still working at the site. this is not about stopping anyone from protesting or raising their voice. but right now, shouldn’t the focus be on the students, the families and the rescue operation?

California has mandatory reporting but the unions oppose it and are openly defying it. This why the administrators cover up the sexual crimes against children in schools, get convicted for failing to report, and not only get to keep their jobs, they get PROMOTED.

The report card from Harrisburg is in and the results are alarming. Just 12% of Harrisburg High School students are proficient in reading. Only 2% are proficient in math. And science proficiency is just 3%. Our students deserve better. It’s time for Pennsylvania to opt-in to the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit and give families real options at getting a quality education.

President Ruto issued a roadside directive asking all students to go to school with or without fees etc. Two students reported to their assigned Grade 10 schools as directed by the government, without uniforms and without fees. Their parents were asked simple questions: What will your children eat? What will they wear? Where have you ever seen students admitted with no fees? They were sent back home. One child is crying on camera. My fellow Kenyans, leadership is not about roadside directives. Leadership is planning. You cannot announce enrolment without preparing schools, parents, or students. What worries me most is this: the government is just interested in these students reporting and getting them in their MOE database/ systems so that they will report "96% enrolment" to lenders like the World Bank, but they don’t care what happens next. In reality, many of these children will drop out by the second term, quietly, when the cameras are gone. We are walking into the highest dropout crisis in years. The education gains made under Kibaki are being erased. Enough is enough. This is a policy failure. This is leadership failure.
