The City’s Bad Buildings Committee has returned to Pretoria Industrial for an illegal electricity disconnection operation. We've arrested an individual who was allegedly posing as a City of Tshwane contractor and was connecting electricity illegally in the area. A fake City of a Tshwane logo was found on their vehicle. We have also impounded the vehicle. Illegal connections endanger lives, damage infrastructure, and undermine service delivery. The City will not be deterred from enforcing the law and protecting critical infrastructure. City of Tshwane

The City of Tshwane’s Bad Buildings Committee is conducting an operation in the Pretoria Industrial. We’ve found an illegal community of foreign nationals that operates a recycling facility on hijacked municipal land. Our teams have disconnected illegal electricity connections, in addition to removing an illegal waste collection facility. One by One! City of Tshwane

Today, our by-law enforcement teams conducted compliance inspections at businesses in Mamelodi. During the operation, fines were issued for various by-law contraventions, expired goods were confiscated, and several non-compliant businesses were closed. Two undocumented foreign nationals were also arrested. These ongoing operations form part of the City's efforts to enforce municipal by-laws, protect consumers, and ensure that businesses operate within the law. City of Tshwane

This morning, we joined the City’s Bad Buildings operation in Proclamation Hill. We inspected a property operating an illegal panel-beating business and discovered approximately 50 alcohol bottles, raising concerns of possible illegal liquor sales. Building Control issued a 21-day notice for unauthorised building structures. Our Energy and Electricity Business Unit removed illegal electricity connections, while our Water and Sanitation Business Unit removed an illegal water connection. The City remains committed to enforcing by-laws to ensure that private properties aren’t used to hide unlawful activities. City of Tshwane

Our last location for Tshwane Ya Tima was in Arcadia Street. This property owes the City R2.1 million. They’ve also managed to illegally connect their neighbours. We’ve removed a well designed illegal electricity network. City of Tshwane
