He has made it clear that non-performance, corruption, and indiscipline will no longer be tolerated. The Minister has vowed to deal decisively with any public servant found engaging in malpractice, bribery, ghost workers, or failing to deliver services to the people. “All local government officials and staff must serve with integrity, accountability, and dedication. Deputy Speaker Tayebwa Pledges Anti-Corruption Drive with Balaam, Urges Mitooma Locals to Lead by Example The Baraza brought together local leaders, community stakeholders, technical officials from the Ministry of Local Government and residents to openly discuss challenges affecting service delivery, accountability and government programs in Mitooma. The Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker, who is also the Area MP for Ruhinda North, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working with me to intensify the fight against corruption and abuse of office across the country. Last night I was on Newzroom Afrika's Africa Today programme hosted by Hugo R.P Ribatika talking about what the new set of American sanctions mean to Zimbabweans. I was joined by former Zimbabwean minister, Saviour Kasukuwere who was removed from the sanctions list on Monday. I explained that sanctions are used by the regime in Harare as cover to explain its failures and corrupt rule. I also talked about how corruption is the bedrock of Zimbabwe's problems, and how there is NO genuine political will to tackle it from within the Zimbabwean government. I explained that the election in 2023 was a corrupt activity, that is why we shouldn't expect a government that came into power through a corrupt, rigged and shambolic election to suddenly fight its own corrupt activities.

For the first time, the entire ecosystem is attacking the main Opposition party – DMK! The endorsement of the good work being done by the TVK Party HQ government by Sridhar Vembu has completely shattered DMK and its support base. The icing on the cake was Sridhar Vembu calling out the nauseating and disgusting levels of corruption during the previous regime. When such powerful statements come from an eminent intellectual like Sridhar Vembu, they naturally carry credence and credibility. It goes to show how atrocious the previous DMK government was, and it is no wonder that the entire ecosystem is attacking the main opposition party, perhaps for the first time. DMK will ensure that every possible obstacle is placed before the new government. It had almost been taken for granted that Udhayanidhi would be the next Chief Minister. Today Labor and the Greens voted against holding a Royal Commission into the government handling of Covid-19. This is despite Albanese saying he would hold a Royal Commission and Senator Gallagher saying an inquiry should be held. When the Coalition was in power there was an ongoing Senate inquiry into Covid that Labor pushed for, yet now they are in power they don’t want to analyse the government overreach. This just proves that Labor were more than happy to weaponise Covid to gain power and didn’t actually care about the people. #auspol
