So the undercoat can be applied on top of the oxidation (rust) ?

My first thought: "I wonder if the boat is tickled when that happens". I need therapy.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes to paint a ship this size?

I wonder how heavy the paint coat is, I remember hearing that a 747 has over 500 pounds of paint on it, and that's after drying. How much paint is this?
