🚨Free Agent Crush🚨 LB Leo Chenal One-Liner: A disciplined and powerful versatility piece who excels as a point-of-attack or run and chase defender, Spy and zone-based underneath dropper though his impact is strictly capped by tight hips and athletic limitations that make him a liability in coverage. The Scouting Picture: Elite Tactical Versatility: A unique defensive chess piece capable of playing weakside off-the-ball LB, on-the-ball Sam, or a two-point edge; he uses a stout lower body to absorb contact and unfurl his hips through ball carriers. Disciplinary Run Specialist: High-IQ defender who sticks to keys, sniffs plays out, demonstrates elite leverage to slip blocks, and set the edge against heavy run teams. Coverage & Athletic Ceiling: While effective as a Spy/Rat defender or underneath zone defender, he lumbers to his drops and struggles with immediate change of direction, making it difficult for him to stay in phase during man coverage or mirror twitchier receivers.

The Cowboys still need help at linebacker. Don't expect a flashy name, but one guy to keep an eye on is Germaine Pratt. He has high-level diagnostic skills, can fight through blocks, and holds his own in coverage. He's a good fit for Parker's defense.

Linebackers!🚨🚨🚨 As linebackers, we have to key the guards for run reads, high hats (pass), and for pulling guards. Linebackers have to communicate with each other when they see a puller, screaming “pull, pull, pull!”. The linebacker to the side of the pulling guard has to shuffle over the top staying inside out of the ball carrier. The other linebacker away from the pulling guard has to either box or spill the puller to the other linebacker depending on their defensive scheme. In this video they are boxing the puller back to the other linebacker. It is very important for the linebacker shuffling over the top to keep his depth and not stepping up field. Offensive lineman wants you to step up field so they can cut you off and make a running lane for the running back. #LBU

Scouting Report on Colorado CB Travis Hunter Overview: Travis Hunter is one of the most dynamic and versatile players in college football, excelling both as a cornerback and wide receiver. At 6’1” and 185 lbs, Hunter possesses elite athleticism, fluidity, and playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. His unique skill set and competitive fire make him a top prospect, with the potential to impact the game in multiple ways. Coverage Ability: Hunter excels in both man and zone coverage, demonstrating exceptional footwork, agility, and fluid hips that allow him to stick with receivers through their routes. His ability to mirror and match receivers is top-notch, as he uses his quickness and anticipation to stay in phase. Hunter’s closing speed is elite, enabling him to recover quickly if beaten off the line and to break on the ball with explosive burst. His versatility allows him to cover outside receivers as well as shift inside to the slot. Ball Skills: Hunter's experience as a wide receiver translates directly to his ball skills as a cornerback. He has a natural ability to track the ball in the air and make acrobatic plays, often turning potential receptions into interceptions or pass breakups. His hands are reliable, and he’s a constant threat to create turnovers. Hunter's awareness and timing when the ball is in the air make him a playmaker in the secondary. Run Support: Hunter doesn’t shy away from contact and is an aggressive tackler in run support. He’s willing to come up and make plays against the run, using his speed and physicality to bring down ball carriers. While his frame may require some added bulk at the next level, his tenacity and willingness to mix it up in the run game are evident. Physicality: Hunter plays with toughness and competitiveness. While he isn’t the biggest corner, he uses his physicality effectively in press coverage, jamming receivers and disrupting their timing. Bigger receivers do not easily bully him and plays with an edge that sets the tone in the secondary. His competitive nature drives him to challenge himself against the best, and he consistently rises to the occasion. Instincts: Hunter’s football IQ is one of his standout traits. He has a natural feel for the game, often anticipating routes and making plays before the receiver can react. His ability to read the quarterback’s eyes and understand route combinations allows him to be in the right place at the right time. As a cornerback who also plays wide receiver, Hunter has a deep understanding of offensive concepts, which he leverages to his advantage in coverage. Intangibles: Hunter is a rare competitor with an undeniable passion for the game. His work ethic, leadership, and love for football have been evident since his days as a top recruit. At Colorado, he’s embraced the challenge of playing both ways, showcasing his versatility and commitment to helping his team win. Hunter’s charisma and confidence make him a natural leader, and he has the potential to be a cornerstone player at the next level. Player Comparison: Charles Woodson Bottom Line: Travis Hunter is an elite talent with the rare ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. As a cornerback, his combination of athleticism, ball skills, and football IQ make him a potential shutdown corner in the NFL. Hunter’s competitive drive and versatility add to his value, making him a top-10 prospect with All-Pro potential.

#OleMiss’s Chris Paul (POOH) Chris Paul is undoubtably one of the best, and you can make the case he’s the most complete, linebacker in the 2025 #NFLDraft class. With outstanding movement ability, range in coverage, explosiveness upfield and laterally, and finishing ability as a tackler, he’s a rare three-tool, three down starting NFL linebacker. He finished the 2024 season with a 78+ PFF College grade in Run Defense, Coverage AND Pass Rush categories. He was the ONLY Power 4 LB to reach those numbers this year. And he’s just one of four in the last 5 years to do so (Edgerrin Cooper, Devin Lloyd and Nakobe Dean the others). Rare company for Paul, who rose during East-West Shrine Bowl week and should continue to rise throughout the draft process, as he has the elite football IQ to match the talent on the field. #ShrineBowlWhosNext

Had to give a shout out to my Dasan. According to various NFL scouts: “Long, dynamic, rangy, with elite athleticism for his stature. Bends, closes and strikes. High football IQ. Excels in coverage, pass rushing , and a violent on point tackler. Projects either as OLB, ILB, DE, hybrid nickel/safety. A true unicorn player at 6’5 235 that must stay healthy be developed beyond his physical skill. Needs to be used as a weapon and not a tool. Too talented to be limited”. With that said, Go be great Dasan!!!

I LAUGHED out loud because when asked to describe Singleton, Baldy said, “he makes a lot of tackles…some of the are six yards down the field and he didn’t take the ball away…” Anyone who has ever played defense knows that if your linebacker is making box tackles DOWN the field that is NOT a good thing. If your linebacker is NOT a playmaker and NOT an elite run stopper…. That is a JAG.

2026 USC commit Christian Collins can be a Peyton Watson-ish archetype as a long term prospect in my opinion — has the size and length at 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, high athleticism, has the ability to hit shots, show his shot creation at times, and rebounds effectively.

6’3 Guard Kashie Natt is having one of the best guard defensive seasons in college basketball history. For the season Natt is averaging 11/7/2 while shooting 49% from three. He’s also averaging 2.3 steals per game and 0.6 blocks per game in only 24 MPG. Natt is an elite athlete with an incredibly high motor and plays hard on both ends. He’s an elite POA defender who has great instincts as an off ball defender and is great at getting steals without fouling. Natt also protects the rim extremely well for his height using his athleticism and frame. On the offensive end Natt is a strong off ball player who’s elite at crashing the offensive glass, while also being an elite cutter who’s shooting 66% on cuts, and is a great spot up shooter who’s shooting 48% on catch and shoot threes. There’s not many players in college basketball at 6’3 with Natt’s mix of athleticism, frame, motor, off ball instincts, and defensive impact. Natt, Chris Manon, and Maliq Brown are the only 3 players since 2008 to have a STL% of 5, a BLK% of 2.5 and a TS% of 60.

LB Run Fits Drill The video outlines a linebacker drill designed to help players adjust their run fits based on the movement of defensive linemen. Key learning points include: - Dynamic Gap Fitting: Linebackers must be prepared to "make it right" rather than just fitting a pre-assigned gap if the defensive front is compromised. - Drill Setup: The drill utilizes a defensive lineman (represented by a coach with a bag) and a running back to simulate real-game scenarios. - Reacting to Defensive Line Movement: The linebacker must observe where the defensive lineman's head goes, such as a 3-technique getting knocked into an A-gap or a 2-eye getting reached or pushed into a B-gap. - Responding to Ball Carrier Cuts: Linebackers must mirror the running back’s cut and then "thud" him up to finish the tackle. - Redirecting and Filling: Players must practice redirecting their momentum; for example, if a linebacker expects to fill the B-gap but finds it occupied by a teammate, they must quickly jump cut or redirect to fill the new open gap. - Downhill Aggression: The goal of the drill is to train linebackers to see the opening and get downhill quickly to fill the vacant gap. I remember Dani Carvalaj saying that he's trying to convince Rodri to join Madrid, but what's funny is that Real already have a real gem with attributes similar to Rodri's Chema Anders is a superb number 6 - Good habits on and off the ball offensively - Good positional sense and reading of the game defensively Someone with great sense of being simple when needed and progressive when needed. A real, capable tempo-setter who on top of that is a very intelligent defender who can anticipate things, win a lot of possessions for his team by intercepting passes, waiting for opponent on the ball to arive well positioned. He doesn't necessarily track the ball - a lot of defensive actions towards it would expose some of his natural flaws - it comes to him, it's so good to watch him in defensive transitions. He is also a capable aerial player both ways, and it's scary to think about an absolute beast he could develop into, technically, tactically and physically. #Chema #RealMadrid

I’m not sure Gvidas Gineitis is quite the style of player many seem to be casting him as. I don’t think he profiles best as a ball-winning midfielder or destroyer type. He likes to cross (takes set-pieces), has some athletic capabilities in carrying the ball and has a decent range of passing. Reasonably good in the air too. He seems to work hard defensively, but his efficiency rate in defensive duels is very poor. If he is a target, in my opinion it’s because of his physical profile and willingness to go forward and get the ball in the box.
