Restoration work is progressing at a rapid pace. After repairing and strengthening the temporary access road through the forest, 50–60 dumpers of granular material are now reaching the base of the UP line slope failure site. Long-arm excavators are deployed to place this material on the slope, enabling restoration of nearly 50% of the slope from bottom upwards. Simultaneously, granular material unloaded from the Material Specials at the top is being rolled down the slope, facilitating restoration of the upper half. Central Railway teams are working round the clock to restore the section at the earliest while ensuring safety.

#WATCH | Shimla, Himachal Pradesh | The Kalka-Shimla toy train service partially resumed on Thursday (3rd September), with trains operating between Dharampur and Shimla after a section of the heritage railway track near Parwanoo in Solan district remained damaged for over a week. The track disruption had led to the cancellation of six passenger trains on the UNESCO World Heritage Kalka-Shimla railway line. With restoration work on the damaged stretch still underway, the Railways has allowed train services between Dharampur and Shimla.
